Master Control has logged and filed your intent to sell state secrets to China. The black SUVs will arrive in due time.

It is exactly people like you, whom we have to scour the internet for, and why do not have time to catch Bin Laden, feed the poor, provide universal health care, or act in time to prevent economic messes like this from happening in the first place. Aren't you happy with yourself now? Cause it's all your fault!

Master Control out.... ;-0

It would be insanity. Pretty unlikely that people would just pay off their homes and set up college funds.

Some would, but tons of others would spend it foolishly. Look at lottery statistics to get some kind of idea. Many lottery winners end up in debt!

Do you think we would be better or worse as a society if everyone received a $300K check in the mail tomorrow?

We'd be worse.
As for my math...i guess my calculator can be blamed? It doesn't take all those 0's (it's not a government calculator LOL) so I guess I shouldn't expect a check then?

I'm stocking up on soup. Soup, I tell ya. And chickens. Baby chickens. Soup and baby chickens. People will be standing in long lines just to get some of my soup. I will be a soup magnate. ...and a chick magnate. It will be fun. I am looking forward to it.

For a long time now, we have collectively been spending like there's no tomorrow.
Now?
There's NO tomorrow.
It's today.

I blamed the calculator once, but it just made me look more the fool.

My plans are... I'm moving to South America.

In point of fact, I think Prof_Fate was using a "Politicians Calculator" that allows you to take money you don't have and promise it to all the people who would vote for you. In that vein, I am writing in "Prof_Fate" on my ballot - even knowing that if he wins, I will not get a check for $297k, but only $425. Still, that's a lot of soup. ...or a down payment on a big screen plasma tv.

I am going to take photos of the soup lines and sell them 30 years from now at those traveling art shows.

I think we have advanced to cheese lines now. I am not sure, but cheese is the new soup.

Funny you should say this....

I travel around New Orleans and when near the housing projects I see late model cars and SUVs parked in front, inside the yard and in the parking area of the development. I also see DIRECTV satellite dishes on at least 25% of the porch rails !

I guess poverty really does suck.

Next time I'm near, I'll snap a shot.
