Someone should create a 'photographers rights hero' award! :)

Chris, good work, and smart thinking on your part to bring along a digital recorder. Well done!

As the title says...harsh realities!

One of many pictures taken on Spring Street THIS evening. I processed as my thoughts were, well, pretty 'harsh' so, oh well.

Glad it all worked out the way it did. The securi-goon is probably more than happy that it ended this way, hopefully he has learned a lesson.

How old was this guy anyways?

Great story, Chris. Good for you for politely holding your ground and finding a way to resolve the situation.

With enough incidents like this resolved in the photographer's favor, maybe we'll all see some improvement where we live.

Thanks for sharing,

L2

I hope that you don't get into any hot water about recording the meeting, or did they understand that you were recording?
Double thumbs up to you for asserting your rights in this situation, and even more for not losing your "cool" with the "officer".

Glad you got everything worked out, one thing I think I would have done was (even though YOU already know) ask the police officer if you were correct in refusing to hand over your camera or card to the security officer. We know we don't have to give it to them, but it might have been nice for the officer to actually state this law in front of the other people so they don't try it again.

Again, glad everything worked out...so far ;)
