I like this one best, but I'm betting that you entered the right one. It seems to have done pretty well.
And your inspiration shot doesn't suck. |

All of these were taken at the Wash DC GTG.
My first idea but was reminded that the shot was not very original:
Second idea but I just plain didn't like this one:
Third idea which I really liked but just couldn't quite make it work. When I first noticed this the sun was covering the 1100 perfectly but by the time I took the shot it had moved just enough to not quite look as good as what I thought it would:
