What a week I've had. My wife Debbie and I went to Tasmania to see the final round of the Australian Formula 3 Championship being held as part of the Shannons Nationalas at Symmons Plains raceway. I have become friends with several of the drivers on facebook and was looking forward to meeting them. One of them suggested I go ask for a media pass as an accredited photographer to the event as I have all the gear. So I went and asked nicely, they asked who I was working for, to which I replied "me." The guy took this to mean I was a freelance so he said "Fine, just fill out this form," so I did so and he handed me a media pass and I borrowed a hi-vis vest to go out and play with the real pro photographers at the event. I was able to go on the inside of the hairpin and get excellent shots as the cars came past. It was an excellent weekend. Photos are coming soon, I promise.

Mate, I've got to transfer them from the laptop to the desktop then I've got to sort them out, might take a while, I should have the first lot up some time tonight my time. I took well in excess of 20 gig in total. Mind you that was in RAW.

What a fine opportunity you made for yourself! My gear and my photos have been a key that has opened many doors for me as well. Thanks for sharing the happy news and the photos.
