This is my first ever model shoot. I know they arent the greatest photos, but I did learn alot today.
I did my model shoot on the grounds of the Clinton Pres. Library. Ummm.... there was the Art of the Chopper going on today and there were 1000's of bikers there.... my model walks up in tiny shorts, high HIGH heels, and a tiny shirt... we IMMEDIATELY had an audience of a few hundred people... LOL
THEN 2 other photog's came and butted into my photo shoot. At first I didnt mind bc the model didnt mind, but they were getting in my way, so my hubby came and had them go away.
This girl is a runway model, and she knew how to pose and what she wanted, so I just started shooting. I shot about 300 of her. But I have only edited about 20 so far.
Please check out my collection on her here Models and provide some feedback for me. I probably will meet with her regularly as she likes to have her photo taken, and I can use the experience.
All of these were shot in RAW, slight lighting adjustments, but no real editing on any of them (except 1) |

Howdy! Of course the obvious point here is that it seems like you picked an appropriate venue for photographing a hot babe :)
My overall impression is that the shots seem a little too bright, and that brings out a bit of grain. And some of them felt a little unnaturally tilted slightly one way or the other. But she's a beautiful girl, and it seems like any of these shots can be edited into really, really nice final images! |

I agree.
I was working with my 55-200 lens. I was working on the 200 end, but didnt bump my shutter speed up, so I ended up with a lot of really soft shots in the beginning. The sky was really overcast when we first got there, but then the sun came out and just hammered us. so tried working in the shade as much as I could. |

When I looked at them I noticed that the girl seemed a little tense in her poses. Other than that I think they are very nice clean images. |

Excellent work for first shoot! You picked a great set of backgrounds, the vertical lines go very well with your long-legged model and her black outfit. Once you've fine-tuned white-balance and curves you'll have some excellent photos in there. The tilts are interesting but work better in some frames than others. Try playing with it for each frame, make a version that exaggerates the tilt and another that corrects it and see which one you like better. |

thanks for those tips. I noticed the wb is a little blue in some of them. I didnt spend a lot of time editing them yet, but I will because i want to do some texture overlays, and some other neat things to some of them. |

You did a wonderful job with her. She seems relaxed and comfortable.
I'm not an expert on this type of photography, but the one thing I noticed in these two shots is that the rule about not putting body parts that you don't want to enlarge, closest to the camera is a good one:
I found a good tutorial on photographing people on this website. If I find it, I'll post a link. It really is wonderful and helped me tremendously.
Over all, I think you did very well. I'm sure she'll be happy.
Kudos to your hubby for protecting you both. :) |

Of course I fav-ed a few for my personal collection of fav's.
But, I think, and this is just me, the shoot seemed a bit tame.
Of course, I am used to big production value, and lights, camera, and craft service, but like Alan mentions too, kind of bright, but not just the value of the image but the atmosphere as well.
Nice images any way.

Thanks for the fav's. The shoot was tame. The whole ordeal was so rushed as we had been trying to do this for about 3 weeks and we just couldnt make it work. So this was scheduled last minute and we did it where there was also a big event going on. Then of course I had everyone and their momma's coming over to take pictures of her!!
We are doing another shoot soon, hopefully the next few weeks. She has agreed to model for me anytime, for any purpose. she is not shy and she likes being photographed!
She did pay for this shoot but I gave her a deal since it was my first model shoot. |

Your model does look like she's a bit tense in the shoot. Also, she is beautiful and very tall. Some of your backgrounds (the vertical lines and cement bench) add lines which accentuate it even more. Now, you could have been going for that, but to my eye it may "stretch" her a bit too much. That could just be personal preference though. |

I think she would look even better if she didn't have that Paris Hilton look to her. All she needed was a pink purse, some huge sunglasses and a dog.
The shoot look like it went pretty good for but take some time up front to talk with her and relax her more. Images look clean and lighting is great. I think YOU did good but your model could have done more.
