Some tentative, possibly good-ish type news

We're 90% sure that Brad (that's my hubby) has a new job.

The husband of a friend of mine took Brad's resume in to his workplace last week, and Brad got a call this morning to come in to fill out an application.

He didn't have the application filled out and he was called in to the office to talk.

He has to go for a physical next week with their doctor and if that goes well, he starts at 7:00 AM on the 29th of September.

And, being that he's all of 28, doesn't smoke, drink, or use any kind of recreational substances - I don't see how he would do anything but pass the physical.

Better news - his starting wage at this new company is slightly higher than what he was making at his old job.

We'll know more next week, but that's what we know for the moment.

hi fellow suckers, i got a chance to take some shots of a newborn this week, a first for me. Here is a couple of them and i would love some comments and ideas on how to improve. I didnt have a clue how hard it would be shooting these little fellows.

I got some pictures of the "Fall Fireworks" show out here. It's the first fireworks thing I've been able to shoot this year, and I'd like to think I'm getting better at these.

Oh that school - I learned a fair bit of ducking and weaving in one of those.

I gather one of the main reasons for emigration from Europe to the American continent was because things were too soft and easy going in the old world.

So.....at this point in my life, I'm at least reasonably comfortable with the fact that I'm weird. I have a question for you guys. Do you sometimes just feel this uncontrollable urge to photograph something that is just extraordinarily plebian, but something about it just forces you to take a shot of it and play with the processing 'cause something about it just struck you?

This stupid fire hydrant was just sitting there gleaming with a fresh coat of paint in this kind of faded neighborhood setting, so I thought I'd try and capture the incongruity of its gleaming-ness......

Did I?

Is it kinda cool? Or am I that weird?????

LOL!!!

Yes, you captured it well and you are that wierd.
But fear not as I believe Benjamin Franklin, Albert Einstein and Vincent VanGough were also considered "wierd". Just don't go cutting your ears off. lol.

I do it all the time, Jeb. Then I stick the shots in challenges and they bomb and I wonder "What WAS I thinking?" Then I do it again. And again. I'm not sure there's a 12-step program.... :-)

12 x 12 = 144
144 x 12 = 1728

you in the heavy programme...

Jeez we don't even HAVE fire hydrants out here, just the local basement-savers err, volunteer fire department.

Great news, Lea! So glad things are looking up, keep us posted! :-)

Entry in for Found Letters, will probably suck but oh well. I'm saving my dpc-friendliest shots for the Olympics :-0
