Hi there,
I understand I can use Adjustment Layers such as Colour Balance, Levels etc, in Normal mode, but am I allowed to use just a % - for example do my Colour balance in Normal, but only use it at 50%?
Love an answer promptly as I'm working on a submission for tomorrow and I like how it looks now - SMILE!

Lisa,
I believe it's the same thing as using "Edit Fade" but without using a layer. It shouldn't be an issue, but I'd wait until SC chimes in to verify. To be safe, you can always write down your opacity for the adjustment layers and use edit fade.

I use less than 100% opacity all the time, so I'm pretty sure it's fine.
What a coincidence seeing you post - I was just enjoying (and re-enjoying) several of your photos. You have a few new faves. :)

Hey Thanks Ken - funny thing though I've never used Edit Fade in Basic either - for some reason always thought I couldn't too - can't wait to get clarification. |

Thanks Jeffrey, I'm always chuffed to think that while I'm crusing around in my life someone on the other side of the world is liking what I do - I like your choice - GRIN!
Just trying to get this done before the school run - am glad I bought up the topic now - I may be able to use something I thought I couldn't. |

I am sure its ok, I am almost certain I have had images validated doing this, as well as seen other winning images that have laid out there editing steps say they have done it also.
Send a Ticket to SC just to be sure, it should be a simple yes. :)

This was from the old Basic IV Ruleset:
"Adjustment Layers must be applied in Normal mode. All other types of layers (including those that contain pixel data or masks) and all other blending methods (modes) are prohibited. Changing the opacity of an Adjustment Layer is permitted."
But that specific statement is gone in the current ruleset. Hmmmmmm...
I'm thinking that it's just assumed, but it'll be interesting to see what the SC comes back with. Please let us know. :O)
