LOL - but I can't agree with you . . that would be like saying next time the challenge is 'The Female Form' I hope Larus, Toy, and Kiwiness win . .
The whole strength and beauty of the challenges, is people going and taking photo's of subjects (maybe for the first time) and trying to capture the moment. Anyone with a love, and knowledge of the subject will always have an advantage - but it is about the best photo entered. Sometimes the winner is no surprise, sometimes they are completely new and the win might inspire them to carry on in that area of photography and get even better.
Let's just enjoy the ride - well actually more of a gentle canter for me actually, with increasing stops to nibble the hedgerow, but I digress . .
May the best horse win :- ) |

You're right, I just get caught up in the heat of the moment sometimes. After all I did give out a record number of 9s and 10s, so surely non-horsey pros got them too :-)

You don't know the half of it! I worried for the photogs' safety in a couple of pictures. And my subject is a horse who once threatened to mow me down when I was refilling the water bucket in their stall, so I was extra-careful shooting that beastie...but it was worth it.
