So, I am sitting here working in Photoshop and listening to music (which I always do) and I got to wondering if other people do this too...
I listen to a variety of music, from classical -Bach, Beethoven, Chopin- to swing -Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington- to classic rock and roll -Aerosmith, AC/DC, Metallica- but my favorite is Dance club type music -Gwen, BEP, Ciara, Missy E, etc...
Here is my question:
What do YOU Photoshop to?

Depends on the mood. Sometimes I like to listen to Enigma. |

I listen to a good mix like you...not much for classical unless its live.
Goo Goo Dolls, Great Big Sea, GnR, The Tragically Hip...are a couple of older go toos.
and anything with rockn acoustic guitar. |

Pink Floyd, The Who, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Zeppelin, Stevie Ray, CSNY. Or, podcasts, books on tape, iTunes U lectures. It's all good. |

The sweet, sweet sounds of my mouse sliding over my desk or the stylus sliding over the pad. ;)

Recently... Bic Runga, Mattafix, Regina Spektor, Blue October, Flaw, Staind, Cold...
A little while back it was likely to be Arch Enemy, Opeth, All That Remains, Cradle of Filth, Anathema, etc. |

I am curious now to know what kind of images these bands produce :) LOL!
I know I get some pretty funky ideas from PINK when I listen to her and my processing might turn out a little bit differently.
I would like to see an image that you remember a specific type of music you were listening to when you Processed it for scientific comparison purposes :) |

here ya go jojo, a few examples from my portfolio that i recall:
was listening to "Doomsday Clock" by The Smashing Pumpkins. my thought behind the shot was that me and the bear were about to be incinerated by the brightness of the ending of the world? so, thus, the song and edit.
BUT, this one
I was listening to Enya, very differnt approach |

I would say then, that music does have a great deal of effect on your processing... maybe I should be listening to something a bit more punk... |

I don't photoshop to anything but the sound of my laptop fan.
I find music distracting. It makes me want to go play Guitar Hero. |

It's an interesting question about the effect of the music listened to at the time a photo is being edited. I will try to be more aware of that when I edit and see if I can edit the same shot to different music and mood, with a couple of weeks between the first and second edits, just to see if the final take looks different, and how different.
I like J Buffett, Allman Bros, Joe Satirini, Paul Simon, Acoustic Alchemy, some country, some, mostly older rock, some jazz/fusion, and once in a while a classical piece. I'm not too keen on opera though. I think I would get a really strange edit listening to opera.

Mostly 80's and pop. I need to keep the energy level up when I'm at the computer.
Usually this radio station. Online of course. |
