As far as I know, there have only been a few times in DPC history that an entry has placed one worst than last place. whiterook of course is the bona fide master of this new category with his "chess timing" which placed an amazing and unprecedented -1%, or 211 out of 209. He did something similar with his

"whereare all the poeple" entry which placed 478th out of 477 and one other free study where he placed 617th out of 616 entries.

In essence, the Site Council, or the TWIN-GODS, L&D, bumped whiterook into his own unique category, something of distinction as being even below the cellar floors of the DPC basement. Who knew there was a trap door down there! Head down those dark stairs and you'll find a couple of us huddled in the corner enjoying a good game of chess!

Oddly, I checked back on one of my entries from July and discover to my great delight that I've been awarded what I'll call the WHITEROOK Ribbon, which means placing worst than last. In the "Anything but Landscape" challenge of July 2008, with this entry titled "portrait of the sky"
I placed one worst than last, 247th out of 246 entries. One of the other Brown Ribbon champs of DPC, raish (the one who also designed the DPC Brown Ribbon icon used widely) placed last.

Anyone else won a WHITEROOK RIBBON?

klstover has also attained this infamous standing with her "gemini"

Anyone else?

Hey Charlie you forget one placed 617/616. That makes a hat trick.

Could this statistic be caused by a member's departure from DPC subsequent to his entry into the challenge?

I momentarily had the whiterook for 370 / 369, on top of that King_Lizard had 371 / 369 for , both of us bumped up one with a disqualification

Yeah! DPC whiterook fans want a reasonable answer to jjstager2's question: How does this happen? Why do some entries place worse than last or two worse than last? If there is selective Site Council involvement on these challenge entries, why not recognize them with an official Site Council award icon: here's a possible candidate!

Mine is fixed now, so I don't have a -1% placing.
This ribbon was very short lived for me.
