I was reading this news story and figured it happened in the US somewhere. Probably Alabama or California. To my horror I find this type of thing happens in the most civilized country in the world!!!!!

Damn, the thing i find most frightning about this whole thing, is that you think England is civilized

what I find frightening is that fir3bird thinks they use the word petrol in Alabama or California.

Actually, it's frightening that anyone would put California in the same breath as Alabama for any kind of comparison ;)

Darn. Now this is going to be moved to rant.

Well, I've never been there. But I've read many wonderful stories about the place.

LOL Dude do you realize that your timing just made you ask if fir3bird could read? I just about spit my water out when reading this series. (I know you were talking about lighting farts. I just found the timing funny.) LOL

edit to add: I can't believe I said dude :(

I know a very proper lady who comes from Canada. Our children went to camp together one summer. When we went to pick them up, both families arrived at the same time, and our son started telling stories about how the cabin counselor had taught them to, "Light 'em if ya got 'em."

I thought that Rhonda (the Canadian lady), would be horrified. (My wife was a little non-plussed) To my amazement, when I tried to delicately explain what the boys were talking about, she exclaimed "Oh... You mean Blue Darters!"

One of the best laughs I ever had.

...and yes, we were in California at the time.

I remember my old college days in the 60's. Someone had a record we played constantly about a royal farting contest. It was recorded in England. The champion nearly had the gold medal in had when he accidentally set himself on fire.

I guess that those who don't read history are doomed to repeat it.
