First, I want to thank everyone who took the time to comment on my Sacred Places shot. I have a lot of other photos of the Santa Barbara Mission from that day, many of which I feel are better photos. I didn't submit them because they didn't seem as appropriate for the challenge, esp. when I converted them to black and white. I feel they look a bit eerie but I am very pleased with them. Let me know which are the best and if I should have submitted one of these instead. Thanks, hope you like them.

I like the second photo of the church with the big cross on the left. I would probably crop some more the ground portion as it doesn't have a lot of detail in it. However, I would increase the crop at the top showing more of the clouds. The clouds have better texture than the ground. Your church then would be two thirds down on the right. I would also play around with the sepia tone.

thanks brunchen. The way I composed it I was thinking of the middle of the cross and the door of the church as the focal points, which probably didn't work, but that's what I was thinking when I took it. :)
And I'm not really a big sepia fan but I agree it would probably work well with these. |

How nice! I like them all, I gave your original entry a 7, I would have given number 2 or number 6 a 9 in a heartbeat and possibly up to a 10 before I was finished. I really like the black and white effect on these shots and they conveyed the challenge more to me than your original entry.
