On either of these cameras, is there a way to hook up an external power adapter? I have looked all over the 300D but can't find a port for it. I've never held a 10D so I don't know.

I know the adapters aren't included, but does anyone use them for studio work?

Also... is it possible to shoot directly to a computer w/o the use of a card? Again, for studio work. Just curious.

Thanks!

The D60 ships with an external power adaptor - its basically a version of the battery with a wire on it that connects to the charger. The 10D didn't ship with such a good charger but I don't know if it has the external supply adaptor.

I can shoot my D60 tethered, straight over the USB cable too - never actually tried without a card in, but the shots are stored on the computer, or optionally a CF card. I'd expect the 10D has the same capabilities.

The 10D and 300D both use the BP511 battery. The AC adapter uses a dummy battery to interface to the camera, so there is no external port for connection of the AC supply. the AC adapter is now an option, however, as Gordon pointed out.
I know the 10D can be controlled from a computer, I can't say for the 300D. the Canon Remote Capture utility appears to ship with the 300D, so that would say "yes", apparently.

The Canon Remote Capture utility does ship with the 300D - but I haven't tried it out yet...

From a quick scan of the book, it allows you to control the camera from your computer and it stores the photo on your computer.

Hope this helps.

Edit: Bad grammar :-)

The EOS-300D remote control via computer does work, I have tried it! Great, as with everything else about this camera!
