OK, i'll try the dollar store, never think of that store for cheap props. Not today though, I loaned my truck to my son for the day. I'm stuck and it's pouring moose and caribou here atm, wow!

I didn't buy a duckie after all, I instead bought a 12 inch woody for 9 bucks. Now to photograph this piece of wood in an elegant interesting way.

Now I'm sitting just above 6...too bad, I thought I would be fighting for a 6.3...I'm hoping for something over 6.

I have a "WOODY" (no not that one) now all I have to do is figure out how to shoot it. No matter how I type this out it still sounds weird, this is the third time and it still makes me laugh.

So I'll work on it and I'll have something for sure.

Oh and my morning shot is in the toilet, but I refuse to resort to the status quo to get a good score. The shot turned out how I saw it in my head and those on the site who took the time to look at it for what it is have all left comments saying that they love the shot, makes them laugh, great take on the challenge, and have left me scores of 10, 10, 8, and 7.

So I'm happy even for that. Now I'm not sure I'll make it into the next round of the better then average side challenge, but that too, isn't everything:)

I will probably be in for Ducky. I was out shooting and have a couple of possibilities. If they don't work out, there is always 3 more days to get it right! :) And I am now on vacation so I should have some time to play!

My evening shot is hovering around 5.6-5.7 depending on the time of day.

No Ducky or Woody for me...unless I find one in Japan real fast. They have a couple of GIANT woody light posts in town...I wonder if I would get DMC for that.

I worked with my "WOODY" all day yesterday (boy, am I tired) and turned out some shots that I'm happy with so I'm in for WOODY.

I am having one of those indecisive days again. My problem is that the shot that I like best will probably score the worst of all the shots that I have. The ducks are too small in it so I don't think the voters will like it. A couple of the others I have editted so far have possibilities but I think I will head out and try again tomorrow to get something that makes me say ...yeah, that's the one. It may end up being a low scorer, but I will submit something! I figure whatever I submit has to score higher than zero, right?

As for the 1976 Olympics, wasn't that the year that Canada became the first host nation ever to not win a gold medal? We won 5 silver and 6 bronze but no gold.

At this point, I think I would be happy with just not getting shut out! :) My current shot is sitting at around 5.7 right now.

That's cool Prism, sometimes we put too much time into a shot I find. Just looking at the pic for so long can take away its uniqueness or pop and we may start thinking our image isn't worthy. I get stuck in that hole sometimes and have learned to just pull away and start something else. I then come back and open up the file with fresh ideas and usually, not always, something is created that I like. Like my Woody entry. Can't wait to see where this will score. It's not a humorous shot, more like a still life, as if any shot isn't a still life when it involves a woody. lol

as for the 76 games...

Yea, what an honor to hold that record seeing how much it has cost the city/province since then. It's an outright shame and only fitting for those disastrous games to hold such a record.

OK, I am in for Ducky! Went with one of the ones I had after 2 of my family members said they liked that one best. Time will tell if their taste matches DPC voters! lol

I got a great surprise from my husband today though! Next week is our 30th wedding anniversary. He went out shopping and gave me my present early so I will have time to use it a bit before the return date passes, just to make sure it works OK with my camera. I am now the happy owner of a Pentax SMC-DA 50-300mm f4.5 zoom lens!

I'll be heading out to give it a try as soon as it stops raining around here! Meanwhile, I have a lot of close up shots of household items!

lol I'm sure we all have closeups of our stove and lampshades. Congrats on your new lens, can't wait to see some shots with it. Not the stove though. ;\
