How awesome - I made the request earlier today, and just noticed the change is in effect. We've got a new "lens" listed on DPC here.
Sorry to hear about your lens Michelle - is it warrantied? |

Tease!
Details????
Michelle, it must be something in that range.
I lost my 55-200 to a barrel breakage.
It was my highest producing lens.
It's tough to be a klutz and live.......8>(

thought the link was sufficient... we didn't have site recognition for zone plate before, and now we do. Now we just have to get people shooting with it. :) It looks not much different than the "custom made pinhole", they just haven't got a picture up of it yet. Something by way of an explanation here.
Don't expect a run of interest in this really, but I just got tired of choosing "no lens specified" in my image details, so I asked that it be added. |

Karen - no warranty. I don't think it would be covered anyway. I was doing a photo for the SP, it was on a tripod, I walked past the tripod, and knocked it over. It fell on the carpet but I thought it would be ok. But the manual focus rotating barrel just stopped working last night. And now it won't focus at all :( Klutz indeed. |

Ugh, sorry to hear that (the no-warranty lens part, not the klutz part - we're all klutzes at one time or another, so don't sweat that :) )
Hey, you could turn this into a marketing opportunity - the colorcarnival photo-mat, a spongy 2-inch thick "doughnut" circular mat that covers a 6 foot perimeter around your tripod. Protect your investment, buy Photo-Mat today!

So this is the first time that I have had 3 challenges up at once. Nice to see that they are sucking along this well :). On another note it is my birthday today I'm 55 and really enjoying this old age stuff. Everyone wants your time and money! I like my AARP card.

Well, I *did* look at the lens details, but since I'd never heard of a zone plate, or the whole diffraction thing before this, I thought I'd ask.

I completely forgot, Rosemary! I meant to start a thread when I got up, but I overslept and our new boss is a "You MUST be here at 0730!" kinda guy (and he checks) and I was in a panic. Last time I worried about being to work "on time" was in high school, by the way...
Anyway.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! |

I'm thinking WD40, since the lens barrel doesn't move though it should.
Duct tape is for things that move when they shouldn't.

Hey team, I'm not feeling so well, so I won't get team scores up until tomorrow morning (unless someone beats me to it). |

Well, I am in for Morning and I expect it to suck. I hate mornings and now I hate shooting for mornings....but it will give me 3 entries at once for the first time in a long time.

Kashi's right, and I wasn't really expecting to be taken seriously, lol!
But seriously, I have heard of wide rubber bands coming in handy for situations involvong lens barrels, so should you get it moving again, maybe try a RB to stabilize barrel?
