Just got this camera, thought I'd share some shots from my first attempts with it.
With flash:
Though, somehow this just doesn't look right...

I know what you mean... I'm sick of people laughing at my Optio on it's tripod.
Quite a few times, strangers come up to me when I'm taking pictures and ask if I want them to take a photo of me. I'm not even dressed like a tourist. *Sigh*. The reason I bought the Optio was because I didn't want to look like a geek with a large camera. I've changed my mind now, I don't want to look like a tourist anymore!
I was quite jealous of the new 4 megapixel Optio S, but when the new mini camera from Panasonic is coming out, my Optio is history. The new FX5 is the same spec as the Optio except a little bit larger... but it has image stabilisation!!! In a camera that size, that is incredible.
So hopefully, I'm going to have the Panasonic FZ10, and the Panasonic FX5.

Still doesn't look as weird as this Kyocera Which is about the same size but splits in the middle.

| I like the larger, heavier, more traditional looking cameras myself. But I have learned not to underestimate the pictures that come from the slim and tiny ones. The technology never ceases to amaze. |
