I talked to him last night, he knows about this thread, had already been directed to it. He is still super busy but said that things are slowly starting to settle down again. He didn't say one way or another though about actually getting the CC going again. Sorry I don't have more news.

I still haven't heard from him. Maybe he wants to continue leading the group. He hasn't responded to my email from earlier in the week, so I'll just wait to hear from him...

Maybe once every month or two, if that, I go back and look at old entries to see if there's a new comment. Other than that, if a comment isn't there the first day after the challenge finishes, I'm not likely to see it. It would be nice if there were some kind of notification when you got a comment, any comment, on any photo outside the challenge voting period. Either an e-mail or an alert box when logging in to the site that there were new comments since your last visit.

Personally, I also don't pay much attention to the "helpful" box. Just doesn't bother me. I can't see getting bent out of shape over something with a hundred possible explanations besides the person being rude - they didn't see it, the didn't like it, or they just forgot. Like you. :)

Maybe it's just a chick thing... [ducking and running]

I would like to replace or add to the rows of photos on our profile page, to make a row for "most recently commented-on" photos. I often see that someone's commented on my older photos by checking the Photos>Browse menu item, which displays a page with the site's 16 most recently commented-on photos.

no offence but you have to show up to lead!

is there anyway we could possably till the CC gets going again have a way that any member can access Photos that have requested critique. we could all randomly go through the archives but that might prove a waste of time.

Here are some stats that I just compiled from the critique club data:

Total Members: 87
Total Members who have critiqued in the last 30 days: 11
Total Members who have critiqued in the last 60 days: 19

Based on this, I would say that a very large majority of the membership of the critique club is not really participating. Maybe it's time to revamp.

I will be re-organizing based on your feedback, but here are my suggestions:

1. Remove anyone who is on my current list as not having given a critique in the last 60 days. I don't believe that one comment during this timeframe is too much to ask of anyone.

2. Campaign for new members who are interested in participating.

Any thoughts?

If one critique a week is sufficient and there are no other criteria for picking members, I would like to apply. You can check the comments that I've already made to see if you believe that I'm qualified for this. If more than one a week is a requirement then I can not commit to this responsibility.

I would love to help if possible!

Sounds like a great idea. Anyone who hasn't critiqued in 60 days and still wants to participate could rejoin whenever they're ready, and I think there's a pretty sizable pool of people who have tried to join in the past few months who would like to take part.

If I'm still on the list, please remove me. I did send an email to Terry some months back requesting that I be removed but I have no idea whether it was actioned.
Many thanks

I would hesitate to just start removing people willy-nilly who haven't critiqued in 60 days. Since the club kind of died on the vine a lot of members either stopped altogether (because of the futility and the feeling that they were the "only one out there"), or, like me, started making more thorough comments while voting.

I don't think it's right to "penalize" individuals because the entire group seemed to crap out.

Personally, I don't know if I've done an "official" critique in 60 days or not. If I haven't, it's for the reasons above. I'm interested still in participating, but it was much more useful when it was a group effort.
