One of my friends here at dpchallenge showed me a nifty site where one may submit photograph entries for possible use as soda bottle labels for Jones Soda. I just thought I would pass it along here since some of you may be interested in participating in that... I submitted a few myself...

I have been browsing labels there for quite a while today... If you look at the labels, sort them by the 'staff pics' and you can get a better feel for what they like..... Maybe someone from here will get a label published...

Ummm...is it true they have over 43,000 submissions?
People are whacked or they have an awesome publicity department.
Can you imagine 43,000 submissions for the weekly challenge? I would finish voting in 2011 and have a backlog of 20,120,000 photos to see after just my first vote .... hehehehe |

I think the only ones who see them all are their staff. I'd expect people go vote on their own and a few others...
btw -- in their FAQ section they provide a helpful button/link which you can put on your own page to direct people (and your friends) to the page on which your photo appears. |

I don't know exactly how they work it, but there are some photos, if you sort by most popular, that have thousands of votes...

A large majority of the photos on Jones site are snapshots... some of them have a nice 'mood' to them tho...

interesting site - some of our guys there doing well!, you get immediate feedback from the voting - there is one voter who scores everyone 10!

One of my submissions got a staff pick! And therefore has “a very good chance of being picked for a label “. Damn I am excited. :)

Glad everyone likes the Jones Soda site! Here's my staff pick from back in the day. It never made it to a label but hopefully Tom Lewis' will.

Nice photo, too, Tom. I've been trying to get a decent ladybug shot in my backyard over the last few weeks but they always seem to be partially hiding or more orange than red or something . . . so I appreciate your shot. I also gave you a good vote! :o)

Hey, they just picked up one of mine for a Staff Pick too!
I like their site, because I have no hesitancy about sending them photos I like but will probably never sell, and getting others' opinions.
I'm sure the scoring is wacko, though, because (1) you ARE allowed to vote for yor own (and thereby against others), (2) they make it easy to send your friends there to vote for you, and (3) voting is, of necessity, quite scattered (54K photos to look at!)

I love Jones Soda too!!! i have about 50 submissions ... yeah I'm kinda addicted ... but out of that 50 i have 5 staff picks ... not too shabby .. they are under photosbyayme .. check em out if ya'll get a chance ... especially now .. since there is a new contest for the top 3 pics ... have a great day! |

| There were several DPC folks back when this thread was started who did get on soda labels. |
