I recently sent this message to site council and got a reply from scalvert

Hi Site council or administrators

Please can you help me, as for the past week, I have another problem with my portfolio page. Things are missing from my Portfolio manager page.

Under 'Select Image Options' there is a header called "Collection Options" All options are completely missing from view, and I cannot add new folders or change images, from folder to folder, and all the other ones that are in this section are all missing

Can you please advise me with the reason why this is happening. I hope you can fix it, as it is really beginning to annoy me. This is the first and only time it has happened. I know my portfolio is large enough.

Please help me.....

This was his scalvert reply, but I don't know how to do what he suggested.
Can someone advise me please.
I use Firefox and also how Internet Explorer as a back-up.
I hate technical stuff, and don't like going into different areas, unless I know all the steps.

Hi Sherryl,

That sounds like a browser problem to me. Try emptying your browser cache, then relaunch and see if that fixes the problem. If not, look at it in a different browser and see if the problem persists.

Best regards,
Shannon (scalvert)

To Empty the Cache in firefox, go to the top menu: Tools->Clear Private Data->Unselect everything except "cache", then click the "Clear Data Now" button.

Depending on the browser type, the method will vary, but

For IE 7, select "tools", then "delete browsing history". Click on the "delete temporary internet files".

What version are you running (to check, select "help", then "about internet explorer".

Do both Firefox and IE display the same problem?

Did all the things you have said and it has not fixed the problem.....

Any other suggestions.

Would it have anything to do with the size of my portfolio.
I still have a huge amount available.

Can you try another computer somewhere? That at least would confirm if it is a problem with your computer or an issue with the site.

What version of Firefox and do you have any add-ons that may be causing trouble? Piclens, noscript, etc.

Are you running windows XP?
If so try this

Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup
A box will appear asking you what drive, select the appropriate drive letter (i.e. (C:)
It will take a few seconds to minutes depending on your system and how much cache and archives are on your system.
A new box will appear with two tabs [Disk Cleanup]and[More Options], by default it should be on disk cleanup.
In the window with the check boxes I check all of them.
WARNING: you can view the files at the bottom if you want to see what is being deleted. But all the files are usually unnecessary files, just make sure you not deleting anything you want to save.
Click OK
it will ask if your sure, click yes
you will see another box appear, similar to the first.
Depending on the amount of files this may take a few minutes.
When finished open your browser and see if everything is back.

Good idea, and I will try my laptop later, when Peter gets home so he can help me.

Hey Shez...
From within IE:

1. On the top Toolbar --> Click on Tools.
2. Then choose "Internet Options" from the drop-down list.
3. A pop-up window will open. It has several Tabs across the top.
4. Click on the "Advanced" tab (it's the last tab).
5. At the very bottom of that window - you should see a section titled:

"Reset Internet Explorer settings"

If you're sure you want to do this, hit the "reset.." button.

Warning - if you have any add-ons or have installed anything (like flash, etc.) it will disable them.

I have DONE all of these suggestions and nothing has fixed the problem.

I know I have enough space at DPC for my images, but cannot add folders, change images around, sort images, or add images to folders, and this is really ANNOYING me no end.

Anymore suggestions PLEASE, as it is driving me mad.....

I have the dreaded feeling that I am going to have a huge amount of single images under my image folders, as this is the way I like to have them and can't anymore for some dam reason. It will end up annoying everyone else, who visits my portfolio, and I don;y want that.

Just a shot in the dark, but try ctrl-F5 to force a reload of the page the options aren't showing on. It could be that the cache is corrupt so can't display properly.

If this is just happening in Firefox then I would recommend uninstalling it completely, run the disk cleanup, reboot the computer then download the latest version of Firefox and install that.
