TCGuru left a nice comment on one of my images (Thanks Johnna!) and I noticed that she too has a folder entitled ."Critters", with some super images.

I've been out in my garden checking out the "wildlife" and took some shots of what's going on.

The anoles are out in full force.

And the "gregarious" leaf-footed bugs are conspiring to devour my one remaining tomato.

I also checked in on the George Foreman Jr.s and they have pupated! I'm looking forward to some Ox Beetles any day now.

Anybody else want to share from their "Critters" portfolio?

Can't say that I have a "Critters" folder, but I do have one called "Animals", one on "Birds" and another called 'Butterflies", does that count.

Truly lovely photos you have there by the way, very nicely done.

I guess that I should make up a "Critters" folder because about 1 of every 3 images in my portfolio is a critter of some kind. The nearest zoo is a long way from where I live, so all my critter shots are wild ones or pets. Here's one from yesterday morning.

A spray bottle application of 1 part dish soap like "Dawn" to 15 or 20 parts water would probably get rid of your tomato bug problem, at least for a little while. They use it in 55 gallon drums in the tomato fields near here.

That's what I did last year, even though I hate killing my models. Since this was the last tomato from this crop I decided to let them have it. I've got a new garden in the works, so I guess I'll be breaking out the dish soap soon.

You're right about your portfolio. Lots of great critters in there!

taterbug, these are big critters, but I love this one!

BAMartin, this is a really cool shot.

While I have a "bird" folder, most of my critters end up in my Challenge folder.

Nice shots.

I have to say that this one

reminded me of the Yip Yip Martians from Sesame Street!

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of this thread :)

Most of my critters don't even make it into my critters folder :) All of these are wild, free, critters except the first one :)

I love bugs and animals. When I was a kid, I had all of the critter cards that they used to send (around 500) and I would read them over and over and over and (well, you get the point). hehe
