Hi all,
Not sure where to post this...
A while back when asking about good photography magazines a number of recommendations went out. The one that I found myself to most enjoy also happened to be free. It was called "Rangefinder" and it's thanks to this community that I discovered that magazine.
They have a sister magazine "After Capture"...which is more focused on post-processing. It too is a free subscription. But you can check out a couple of issues online in a digital format. Thought you all might enjoy!

If you'd like to receive the actual magazines for FREE, here are the links:
Subscribe to AfterCapture
and
Get Rangefinder Here
They've both been in several threads before, but thank you for bringing it out for the ones who hadn't seen these. :D |

| Rangefinder screwed up my subscription and I never did get it, even after contacting them. Maybe I should try again. |

I'd try again... Rangefinder is probably my favorite photo mag. I've perused others in B&N. They a) cost $$$ b) I did not find the articles or tutorials as relevant, insightful or beautiful.
:)
Never would have even known of Rangefinder if not for hanging around here on DPC. So with the digital editions of After Capture. I kind of felt like it was my opportunity to share back into the community.

Only Rangefinder is free for Canadians. After Capture isn't, I tried. :(
Thanks Jason for the links to AC. Does every issue eventually get to be published online?

I don't know. The company I work for does digital publications. And we did those two issues. But I would definitely say if you like them being available in that format I'd send them positive feedback.
Personally, I'd love to see them add Rangefinder as a digital edition too.

| BTW, just curious on what any of you thought regarding the delivery system for the digital edition. Did you like the fact that it was maintained as magazine so that you got the layout feel versus a more traditional web delivery? |

I tried once more and if it doesn't come this time, screw it. When I contacted them last time, several months after signing up, I sent the acct # they'd given me originally. They said their records showed several issues sent and gave me the contact info they had. It was definitely NOT my address, not my gender, not my country, not my anything! When I contacted them again and told them, I never heard from them again. |

I really like that, except that the shadowing toward the spine makes some of the shots look weird. If I were holding a real magazine and had that problem I could tilt it for better light, or force it flatter, but can't do much with a virtual magazine. |

Just go to "Tools", and then "Effects" and you'll see a checkbox for "Enable Center Shadow" - uncheck it and it'll be gone. |
