I have seen refurbished cameras that look like they have never been used, that's how my son got his D50 a few years ago. I have had good luck with some refrb tools and a TV but you still always wonder why it was refurbed (is refurbed a word...).

My first dSLR was a refurbed 350D - came absolutely as new, so would recommend. Would also recommend the 30D, smashing camera :) |

I just bought a refurbished 400D. You'd never know it had been used before. Canon's looked at it and done whatever was needed to bring it back up to spec, that's good enough for me. I say go for it!

What does a 'refurbished' product actually mean? There are lots of reasons why a product can be labeled as refurbished. most are very minor. Returns due to buyers remorse is the most likely.. item was taken out of box and then returned.. it's inspected for functionality and then it's considered refurbished. Items where the outer box was damaged in shipment, these are returned to the manufacturer, where they are checked for functionality and then repackaged. The item was returned to the manufacturer because of a slight defect. The part that was defective was replaced by the manufacturer, tested and then repackaged. The item was returned because of a minor cosmetic blemish. This is returned and corrected, repackaged. Demonstration units are also considered factory refurbished. However because consumer law prevents manufacturers from selling anything considered factory refurbished as "new", the 2nd consumer can take advantage of massive savings on equally good products. The warranties are usually the same on 'refurbished' products as new ones and they also have been specifically tested for functionality before being sold to you. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a refurbished product. I only wish I could afford the price of a refurbished dslr...

great! thanks for the feedback..i mean, after asking advice from alot of peple, i havent heard one negative comment. So it looks like ill take that chance. I most likely will have a time limit 2 where i can return it if anything goes wrong anyway. |

I would just double check the warranty, sometimes refurbished products don't come with the standard warranty.
