| HOV is the High Occupancy Vehicle lane. You must have 2 or more people in the car. The HOV lane is on the inside (left lane)of the freeway. She should not have been there. Especially that part of LBJ, can be really bad traffic. |

It's sad that sometimes we get so distracted looking through our lens that we forget where we are. I know I do it, too... but perhaps not on a busy road.
I'm sorry for her family and friends' loss. *sigh*

She was probably using her cell phone camera. So she risked her life for a blurry 1 Megapixel shot of a car accident?
In recent years, many people have developed an urge to document everything they see and experience. They need to collect evidence to show to their friends (as proof of their exciting lifes). This leads to people not enjoying what they are doing, but instead focusing on the documentation. I wonder if they are going to have a look at all those blurry images and hours of videotape ever again. And I guess their friends won't be thrilled if they are forced to watch all this stuff. |

This reminds me of a horrific story that I saw on the tube when I was visiting  Rox_rox in FL. Couple people street racing just finished a burn out and took off, well the crowd moved in to the thick smoke in the middle of the road to watch the race not thinking that the road is used by other motorists. Well next thing they know an elderly man in I think something like a Ford Crown Victoria came down the road and didn't touch the breaks entering the smoke... From what I remember 6 or 8 kids died on impact and several others injured. they showed the car on tv and it was a total mess and the jackasses that were racing never came back and not sure if they were found or not...
Some people just dont think...
