So this year I went to Cancun. I had nearly waist length blonde thick hair., I swam with jelly fish and they ended up puling or chopping at my hair to get them out. So then I was left with just below shoulder length hair. Had to have it trimmed, so now it was a bob.

So today, i think i will cheer my hair up, so I went to the hairdresser I asked if I could get some highlights that blended with my hair which was turning a little darker blond.

I look like a raccoon on steroids. Not only do I have nothing but white streaks all over my hair, half my hair was burnt out with the stuff he used. So I look like a raccoon on steroids with a few bald patches. I still had to pay him his 70 bucks when he knew I was not happy.

Because I now have hardly any hair on my head, I have to have it it cut within about 3 inches all over.

SO I went from a pretty good impression of Jessica Rabbit, now I look like Elmor Fudd

Not fucking happy

Julie, About 6 years ago I buzzed my head all over and would wear a little bow (baby's velcro ones) in the front because I decided I was tired of coloring and didn't want a "grow out line". Within a year every girl at my office had a similar cut... meanwhile mine was well on the way to growning out. Now, its below my bra-line and I'm 100% chemical free. Easier lifestyle!! :D

Meanwhile, I wanna see pics from Cancun! I loved it there! Did you see Chitzen itza? its fantastic! :)

Lots of women can pull off a super-short 'do. As long as you act like you like it and "own it," you will look GREAT! I believe it was an old Jack Palance commercial that once said, "Confidence is sexy, don't you think?" :)

Thanks Shannon. I was in the shower when the red phone rang.

Come on, Juliett - show us a pic - it can't be all bad. We can't torch the hairdresser's village without seeing the evidence. ...ok we can, but I still wanna see. :)

Thank you for being game enough to post the photo - I think you are probably making the right decision - unless you have it re-dyed. Perhaps highlights mean streaks in the US? I would suggest that perhaps you don't go back to the same hairdresser!...

I can't believe you still had to pay. You probably didn't cry enough.

I didn't cry, I was too pissed off too cry

If you go to another hairdressers and get it fixed you can legaly get them to charge the original hairdresser for the fixing.
I had it done a while ago :)

I've heard several salon horror stories over the years. They usually end with the customer NOT paying.

I know I should have not paid, but I was trying not to rip his head off. Unfortunelty, he was recommend to me by one of my dearest friends who is his best friend. So I was in a little bit of a sticky situtation with that.

But I have sent an email to my friend, in fact every friend i have, with a full colour photo of my Racoon on crack head. I am even thinking of putting the Raccoon picture that Sc did of me.

I can not do any more chemicals on it as it is falling out by the handful right now it is so fragile. So just gonna get it all chopped off.

Arkkk it is just hair, hopefully it will grow back. (well at least in the bald spot lol)

I could be wrong here, but I believe that the bleach is the only part that is bad for your hair.
As long as you go totally DARKER, those dyes are actually not bad for your hair at all.

I have heard that as well. They may also have some that will actually repair the damage as well.

And, highlights are highlights; not streaks (even in the US). :)

You have streaks. ;) It looks like, to me, that he didn't use small enough sections of hair, and instead went for the quick way out and used larger sections. Tiny sections, colored like that would probably look really good.

I can't tell about the cut, but frankly, I don't think the coloring looks so bad. It may not be what you wanted, but it's far from horror-show. Maybe it will grow on you?

As for paying for bad service, I've done that a few times before. It's hard in the emotion of the moment to get a grasp on things. It's usually only much later that I think "Why did I pay for that?" Chalk it up to being human, I guess.

Don't freak and have all your hair cut off, unless that's what you really want. This is a pretty easy fix. Just go to an experienced colorist!! They can add color back to sections of it and blend it together. You'll end up with multiple colors of highlights. There are also cuts specific to this look (usually referred to as "chunky" cuts). My aunt owns a salon, and I can tell you this, if you call the owner and explain the situation, not only will you get your money back but probably some other free services as well. But do not be talked into going back to the same person who did it in the first place.

unforntunety, he is the owner of the Saloon and an expert colourist. I think he just got lazy on my hair. and took a easy route out and used bleach as well as not doing highlights. The highlights where meant to blend into my hair, not be seen from Google Satnavs. lol

YOu can actually see my scalp in some places where he burnt the hair away. So right now, i am not so sure about sticking more chemicals in my hair in case the rest falls out lol

We shall see what the hairdresser can do for my Elmer Fudd hairstyle

Yeah, the Bride of Frankenstein had wavy streaks. A totally different look. Seriously, it's nothing that can't be fixed with darker dye, a little time... and a baseball cap. ;-)

That should have been a red flag right there.
