I'll take a dip (NB, I haven't had a score over 5 for a while, so your not getting a master class)

Thanks Peter! I just sent three versions to your gmail address.

Whoo, what a day...in no particular order got up at 5:10 a.m., chased loose donkeys and ponies, milked goats, fed orphaned calves the resulting milk, mixed pails of feed, went to Smiths Falls to buy frickin' exquisite lean ground beef for $2/lb (and an ultra-cool bathmat too, not at the the same place lol), hayed and watered all manner or critters, somehow managed to get to a Kodak kiosk to get a print of my cowboy entry, finally got the print, and when trying to deliver the print, nearly got eaten by an enormous mutt and a pack of small yapping dogs.

Oh yeah and finally got around to comparing my scores and so far my Cowboy shot has knocked off my Nightmare and may well knock down my Occupation shot. And shot all manner of barnyard critters with the fancy camera.

Anyone out there want my job? :-)

Well, I'm in for high contrast and I'm ready for my beating!! I love it so that means 4.5 or lower.

I quite like my shot too Bob. I already know it's going to be bombarded with DNMC, but at least I'll have my update button. LOL! I'm hoping for a 4.5!

I'm in for Contrast. I wimped out of entering the shot I love, I'll put it free study where it will do even worse but won't be DNMC. Instead I've entered one that surprised me, I was going to delete it but it turned out to have hidden charms. I love it when that happens.

I'm in for High Contrast and I have no clue which way it'll go.

I think from a technical aspect, it's very good, but it's odd so I may take a serious drubbing in the voting.

Who knows?

I entered as a technical exercise for me and I'm curious as to what it'll do.

I'm in Hi-C....at least I think it's high contrast...it could well be high key instead...not expecting anything great, low 5s at best, mid4s at worst. More for learning than anything else.

Nighttime partners (?) are up in the "Totally Safe For Work" results thread. Congrats to BrianR and noraneko for their top scores! Bragging rights for the week go to xianart!

i'm in hi-c, and am tanking along nicely (4.9). woohoo! i'll start commenting in a bit as my flagellant penance...
06/11/2008 05:18:11 AM · #790
I'm in hi-c and around 4.7. It's a bit odd - the contrast is mostly established through post processing, which may be a sin, but it suits and enhances the subject so I sort of thought it fitted the challenge. Is it actually going to be hard to see any difference between the nature and subject of the winners in this challenge and any other?
06/11/2008 05:57:43 AM · #791
*yawn* as expected my hi-c is at 4.4000...hahahahaha...
06/11/2008 06:15:36 AM · #792
My Hi C is not doing as well as I had hoped. I thought this one actually had the "wow factor". I just watched it drop from over 6 to 5.80 in one vote (a "1")! There is no way in hell this photo should be getting a 1, and of course with no comment to explain it.

I really think that instead of just "suggesting" a comment when scoring a photo as 3 or less, it should be mandatory to leave a comment. Freakin' troll bastards. Die trolls! Die trolls!
06/11/2008 06:46:43 AM · #793
Nah, trolls leave dorky comments. What should happen is that every vote below 3 should trigger a message for the next vote over 6 saying (e.g.) someone just voted this picture a (x < 4) could you please leave a comment?

My hi-c is now down to 4.4xx Renewal of membership at the end of July seems very unlikely :-)

My hi-c is at 4.3. Since it's what I expected, I'm not disappointed. No comments at all.

BTW, Ernie.....IMNSHO if you forced voters to comment on sub-3 votes, you'd just end up with one word comments like "Sucks".

Getting a 1 or 2 pretty much conveys that to me......I would hardly expect anyone who votes in this manner to have the decency or consideration to comment courteously or honestly.

Having looked at a few profiles of people who have really sh*tty voting averages, I'm pretty much of a mind that their vote neither counts for much nor are they the type of person I want to rent any space in my head.......if it's a decent image, and you know whether it is or not really, f*ck 'em!
