ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had my shot... I had it I had it I had it.

Got the final PP done, everything going great, looked good, planned this one ALL FREAKING WEEK!

Got the page to upload, did nothing but file, title, confirmation checkboxes, submit.

FREAKING ROLLOVER SCREEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm nearly 42 years old and never felt like crying so much in my life.

Was hoping the rollover kicked on the confirmation, instead of the initial post. But no such luck. NONE. THIS JUST SUCKS!!! (not blaming DPC at all)... just SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ack! I feel for ya, man. That's going to sting all week long :o(
Hey - there's always the Free Study...

We all do I'm sure, but I really felt this was a top 10 finisher... I just couldn't wait to see how this one performed. I don't know if it's strong enough for a free study.

SECONDS... that's all it was SECONDS.

All that non-rollovers of late and this week it has to be precise and rollover mid-upload.

ARGH!

If you are not going to submit it to the June FS. Maybe you could let us see it?. I bet we are all courious about it :-).

Then we could let you know what our score would have been.

That would make it an "outtake", which is still taboo to post early I believe. :-/

Sorry....HUGS! I've had that happen on a shot that I've gotten some amazing comments and a fave out of. I was also very hopefull, so I know what you're going through.

SUCK is life (in this instance!) :)

I estimate I was 15-20 seconds late a couple of weeks ago ...

Is it techinically an outtake if I'm not IN the challenge? :)

After further reflection, I think this will actually work (or a version of it) in the High Contrast challenge for tomorrow night. So I reworked one in Basic (looks better in Advanced) and have it submitted there.

So a little less frustrated now. :)

And sorry GeneralE, but glad to see the SC gets bit sometimes too -- was wondering if the rollover gaffes the past couple of weeks were "engineered" :)

Yes.

What about "technically" :)

Seriously though. If the topic was flowers or dogs or female portrait and I just happened to share one of those during the voting period, how would that be taboo?

It would if you said you took it for the flower challenge or pet challenge, etc. This has been hashed out several times before - you just need to wait until the challenge is over. I'll look forward to seeing it.

Sorry about the timing - It's happened to me as well - and it's always the shot that would have ribboned! ;-)

Yeah, just playing around. I was so mad last night I could spit. Was calmer this morning.

That stinks! I hope that you're able to enter it in another challenge, and if not, come back and post it here so that we can all oooh and aahh over it! Maybe someone needs to create a "bad timing" ribbon for the great shots that meet the challenge but miss the deadline. For me it always seems like I take the really great shots the day before a perfectly appropriate challenge is announced. I hate that!

I swear on my life... I had worked on a photo for a long time yesterday evening, and that's after hiking two hours in the blazing Florida heat to get a shot. Decided I needed a break with only a little more to do...Fell asleep watching Ice Road Truckers!

This is the one I was going to submit to Cowboy (Advanced) but missed the deadline on, so I had to pick another version that would do "well" in Basic.. So

This is the basic editing version I submitted to High Contrast...

Did not do too well.

If it makes you feel any better, sometimes you don't want to get in at the last second.

Like, for example, when you type "460" instead of 640 into the resize box because you're rushing at the last second, and don't realize until after rollover.

Oooohhhh and that realisation would be followed by a week of 40 comments telling you it's too small...that has to hurt.
