All I can say is wow, this girl is so cute and photographs so beautifully!
I shot 2 sessions with Meagan, one in the studio on Sunday and one outdoors on Tuesday. She is my 2nd Senior Ambassador and was an absolute blast to work with. Today her family will come to see her Previews to I threw this video together to show her PROOFS... no kidding, all are unedited!! :)
I'll try to share some individual images later, once I pick some favorites and resize them, in the meantime I couldn't wait to share........

Nice work and she is very photogenic indeed. I have to ask. Was the crease in the white bg wanted? I presume so but to me, it just detracts from the model but not in all the shot though. I can't wait to do some work like this. I'm getting there, soon. |

Very nice shots - did not care for the music. Only a few I didn't care for - the pose. They were all ones, but not all of the ones, where her hand was in the air in front of her. Some had things in her hand but one in particular did not and that looked kind of funny. Other than that, they looked great!

Thanks, Jac! And yes, the "crease" was intentional.... its actually swagged white fabric to add some interest to the plain white bg, kept oof for softness. When you see the full-size images it makes sense. I feel sorry for the family because they're going to have a tough time choosing their favorites! :)

Nice slideshow, overall very nice work.
A suggestion for the outdoor stuff- full flash. Get a ND filter for you lens to drop teh shutter speed below 1/250 when you're outside and then you can use flash as you normally would - it works SOO much better than trying to get HSS to work.
If they can't decide on images sell them an album!
I shot my ambassador over 2 days also...very very cooperative so I want nuts .... 4 hours on location and another 4 in the studio. Insane, I know. 800 captures overall!
I should do a slideshow like you did there - what did you use for that? I've used animoto with some success but am considering ShowIt to make flash stuff.

Hi,
Wonderful shots, I have the sound turned off, so I can't comment on the music. How soon the grow up. I am sure there will be some tears when mom and dad visit these shots. They really show a multifacited beautiful woman; not a girl anymore.
Thanks for sharing. I would give a lot to have been around to see the photo shoot and learned how photographers do that job.
Bill
P.S. FWIW: Haveing just done a little still life statue (nothing like this) with a white background that had creases/wrinkles, I decided before reading these comments they actually added to the texture of the background.

Okay, for those who can't watch youtube, here's a few quick picks....
Chris, my senior pricing includes an album with every session. I want my senior albums to be ALL OVER the schools :D
The video is what I will show the parents when they first arrive for their preview session. It will be shown on the big wall in the viewing room via LCD projector. After that we'll move to my office and begin sorting their proofs with Lightroom until we develop their print order. (I choose the pics for the album, but I keep their favorites in mind when I do.)
And yeah, I need an ND filter for my 17-55 :/

Beautiful images of a beautiful girl. Great job!
May I ask what album provider you use for the senior albums?
Thanks! |

Thanks, Bebe! I'm using BayPhoto's Picturebook right now. I choose it because of its quality look, custom-printed cover and price point. I don't love their ROES uploading system, but it works.

Thanks for the info! It's interesting that you include an album in your pricing - I never thought of that before but I love the idea. What size do you usually end up doing for seniors?

Seniors get an 8X8 20-page book -- but they can add extra pages for a price. I'd be willing to bet Meagan's book will be either 30 or 40 pages.... but she's my rep so I'll really push to make her album fantastic.

Nice shots...I bet she is one "bubbley" girl !
Let me know how they react to the shots. Have you ever thought the photos were great only to have the customer react in a "less than excited" manner upon seeing the shots?

Nice work Cindi, she looked like a fun shoot. Since you're using Lightroom to proof with the client, one little thing that adds a nice custom touch (just in case you don't know already) is to make a custom id plate that replaces the Lightroom logo at the top. You can simply type your clients name (or yours), or make a custom 60 px tall graphic. Pretty neat and EASY. Here's a video tutorial from Adobe. |

Cindi - Your model is very photogenic and her smile is addictive. It take a very good photographer to capture a persons essence and you did a great job in doing so. I watched the youtube vid and felt is was great. She and her parents should be pleased at the work you have preformed and I agree with you; They will have a hard time picking and choosing.
Nice work!

OMG I didn't know I could do that. Great, one more thing to get done before now-ish. Thanks! :D

I use proselect for the proofing session (laptop or projector). It does invoicing, sets so that if mom and dad are divorced or grandma comes along you can do seperate orders for each. It does the slideshow thing too.
//www.timeexposure.com/
It's not the cheapest thing out there, but it makes sales SOOO much easier. It has 3 tabs - happy, maybe and unhappy. Start with the images in the middle and drag/drop to other tabs. When Happy still has 10 images (or 40 if it's a baby) you can put them in framed layouts/composites, put 2 or 3 or 4, etc beside eathother, do B&W and sepia and more. Pays for itself on the first order!

I've seen it in action, Chris and its on my "list", but as you say its not inexpensive... so hasn't made it very far up the list yet. I'm managing with a combination of about 4 programs. Perhaps I'll make that jump (to ProSelect) before long.

Yippee Skippeeeee!
Finished Preview Session and it was a hit! Mom and Megan's boyfriend both looked teary-eyed all the way through the video. They "couldn't say no" to 80 images... EIGHTY!! I love that! :D
Ordered 2 albums, one for Meagan and one for mom & dad to keep, plus an armload of prints. Today, is a good day.
Oh, bonus.... this senior used to go to another nearby school, so wants to help me get senior ambassadors at that school too. :D

These are beautiful pictures Cindy. I have a question? What do you mean about having senior ambassadors. I recieved an e-mail a couple of days ago, about this very subject. A girl wanting to be a senior ambassador for my studio. I have no idea what she meant? I have not ventured into the senior market.....yet. |
