Hey everyone! Just have a few questions I'm hoping you guys can help me with. I'm considering purchasing a Micro Drive for my new Digital Rebel and just had a few questions first.
1. Will I see any degradation in the battery life of my camera at all? If so, how much?
2. Right now I'm using a generic 256MB CF. Nothing fancy or fast. Do you think I will see a degradation in the write time to the MicroDrive vs. the CF Card?
3. This is the MicroDrive I am considering: //cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2960911179&category=18868 . Does anyone have this exact MicroDrive? If so, how do you like it? If not, anyone know anything about this brand?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

I've never had a camera that uses a microdrive but here are some thoughts based on what I have heard and read about them. First of all they are more prone to damage then flash memory cards even though they are still pretty rugged. They are also slower because they are mechanical. They are pretty cool and it is amazing that they can be made so small and work as well as they do but if it were me I would get 4 really fast 256mb cards. I don't really like the idea of having all my eggs in one basket, so to speak. If one card gets messed up then you still have the others. This is especialy important at a big event where you don't want anything to go wrong.
