Calling on the vast wisdom of DPCers to teach me how to eliminate unwanted shadow across the face in this picture using PS CS3.
Thanks in advance

Here's a quick edit - would be much better with the original larger file... and some time.
There are several ways to do this, and I'm sure some are much easier, but here's what I did:
Using CS3
- Using the magic wand & quick selection tool, select the shadowed areas.
- create a curves layer, and modify until you get as close to a match as possible.
- create a duplicate layer and change the blend mode to color - then use the clone tool to copy the color (ie. from another part of the shirt)
- then use the healing & clone tools to modify (essentially to take out the hard line).
I find it best to use a very low opacity on most tools to blend well.

Hope this helps - feel free to PM me if you want some more indepth details :O)

ETA: looking at it again, I definitely botched some of the face area - would be much cleaner if I had more time, but you get the general idea
Good luck! :O)

Thanks to both of you. Very helpful. I will play around with it and see what I can do.
