Starting tonight, after the 'Portrait of a Camera' challenge I will be offering to comment on your entry. These comments will be of my personal opinion and depending on the image may not be for the thin skinned. I will try to speak on the technicals of the image, and attempt to avoid subject matter.

I am not a professional, I am not even an amateur and I am hardly even a hobbyist. I am just some guy who pushes a button on a little black box once in a while. Though I do have an opinion, and I am willing to share the good, the bad and the ugly of that opinion with you.

After roll over on Tuesday night those images in the basic challenges are eligible to be posted here for comment as well. Just remember, if I am bombarded with images it may take a while and if I skip yours, make sure you tell me 'politely', stuff happens and one might be missed. The comments will be given in the order the images are received.

Take note, this will be my opinion, not the way of the world, and I could possibly be wrong and way off base with the rest of the world. However it is my opinion and if You are willing to listen I am willing to share.

Lets keep this professional in the manner of how we speak to each other as well as what is said about the images.

Thanks,

Thanks in advance, I'm really puzzled by what went wrong with this one.

Well. I'm pretty sure I know what's "wrong" with this one, but you are welcome to have at it as well -- it did finish somewhat lower than I expected. FWIW, I was "double-dipping" by taking shots I could enter in the Dappled Light challenge at the same time ...

Thanks. I did reasonably well with a 5.65, and mostly received 5's through 7's, which is what I felt it deserved. However, I'd be really interested in your feedback if you were one of the low voters.

Thanks for the feedback, some of your suggestions were actually things I tried that just didn't work for various reasons. I was trying to duplicate one of my outtakes, but with an image on the screen. However, with the Coolpix's lens extended, I could not get the same perspective. The end result is what matters. Thanks again for the feedback.

I liked this shot and apparently the voting commenters did too.

littlegett I so much enjoyed your comments in the
"Fork" Side Challenge and I'm delighted to see you are still at it on occasion.

Here's my little contribution - I really liked this when I put it in, but the scoring wasn't so hot.
What do you think?

i'd love to see what you think - it's great to get the opinion of someone who doesn't usually visit (not that i know of) my 'folio....
