I thought there was a thread or two on this in the past but couldn't find it, but I know I am not the only one who (ab)uses their tripod for non-photography related things. They come in very handy. Even if I wasn't into photography and didn't own a camera, I would still have a tripod or two.

Anyone else?

The search is borked, I tried looking up a few things and everything shows up.

Anyway I have no picture to support it but in a photo magazine I saw last month it showed a pair of tripods with clothes line between them being used to dry clothes by some professionals when they took a dip in a river someplace. Kinda a fun idea.

My lovely sweet child Charlie, uses them as machine guns when I am not looking. I have used one as a walking stick and beat a dog that was attacking my dog with one. that is it so far

I'm telling you, I think our kids were twins and separated at birth or something.

Well, I used mine for an IV stand last Saturday evening for an overstressed horse at a very hot endurance ride on the central Cal coast. 31 liters of fluid run into both jugulars revived him enough to go to a top notch hospital where he's doing ok. The knobs for the center column and on the quick release plate meant the bags wouldn't fall off. I collapsed it to a monopod as he started to feel better and wanted to roll, and when he got up managed not to dislodge either sewn in catheter. There was a veterinarian in attendance lest anyone think I did any of the medical stuff.

Gun rack. : ) Poke stick, for keeping the uglies from nibbling your knee caps and ankles. Florida fly swatter?

This trumps Art defrosting his freezer in a big way! Good thinking!

Thanks, I was glad it was a fairly heavy duty one and not my cheapie!
