David C's 3rd round performance was one that could easily be recorded and heard on the radio (iPod, etc...). He did seem a tad off the first two rounds from what he's done in the past IMO. Still my favorite. Really hate to see either one "lose" - although they'll both do "ok" no matter what. David C will do much better in the real world.

Agreed, glad and alan. David Cook is believable as a performer and artist, while I can't imagine buying whatever soppy album they drag out of Archuletta. "Babyface" will get bought up by Disney and be the poor second to Miley Cyrus, while David Cook takes the charts by storm.

Really, this is like Ruben and Clay, except Cook beats Clay Aiken by about 10,000 miles. David Archuletta may win Idol, but David Cook will be the artist people still care about 3 years from now.

And please, make Celebrate me Home go away...grrr...

I didn't get to see tonights finally but I hope David C. wins. Even if he doesn't he will be the big winner on the charts. When I watched his version of "Hello" by Lionel Richie I told my wife he will be the winner if America votes the way they should.

Okay lets endure 1 hour and 59 minutes of crap before we see who is crowned Idol 08"-- who's in?

Seriously-- we don't need (or want) this Brady Bunch shitty type performance-- do the directors even have a clue anymore?

Wow-- what a way to start *insert sarcasm*

OK, I watched most of the show and I must have missed the "biggest" star. All morning on good day la they were advertising that the biggest star, right now, would make an appearance. Who was it?

I don't know either. They had mentioned Robert Downey Jr, but he wasn't really there. I guess they'll talk about it on the news tomorrow.

Okay - I'm asking for a spoiler (although it's probably moot at this point)... I'm not within access of my satellite TV (in rural VA, there's not much of an option). Who the H*LL won? Which David? I'm dying to know... hahahahaha

For what it's worth, I've been a DA fan for a number of weeks...

Fair enough - they both were great... Thanks for the info! :-) I'm happy for both of them.

Mildly surprised by the winner (but very happy), but majorly surprised by the spread - 56% - 44%. Yowie!

To quote Simon, "This is the first season I don't care who wins"...Both are deserving of the title.
IMO I have liked Cook sense the "Lionel Richie" week but I also think David A is very good and both will go far.

Congrats to both of them and congrats to David Cook for winning the title. Both were very respectful to each other tonight.

I think America go it right this year.

Edit: Correct spelling

First time ever that the person that should win did win. He will sell a bazillion albums. The other David will probably be left to tour with Clay Aiken on some slow song tour. Old ladies will be tossing their underwear at them, as they sing old classics.

I've been watching off & on this year. I was pulling for Micheal Johns for awhile, but glad to see David Cook take the title - there wasn't a single song I heard from him that I didn't like hearing. I liked the other David in the very beginning, but he got annoying real quick. I could see him being picked up by the Disney channel though.

I am really glad it was David C. I don't think that David A has the true talent that Cook does. I felt that A's range was limited, where I can see Cook spreading his wings as he gets more songs to show off his talents with.

Overall I think it was a great season. I watched every episode this year, a first for me. Thank god for torrents for that. I always fast forwarded through the results show. I told my spousal unit that it surprised me how the judges could bash the contestants saying that their performances were cabaret, and then each week all of the contestants would get up there for the results show and sing something just like that in the most cabaret manner. Uck!

I have to agree with what Simon said at the end of the show lastnight, for the first time. I didn't care who won, I feel that both of them put it all on the table and both deserved to win. They will both have steller careers. DC will get a record contract and go the route of Chris D and DA will probably be on tour with Josh Groben after the Idol tour is over. They both win in the end. Definately one of the best season of American Idol thus far.

So whose happy that Cook won? I think he seems like such a nice/cool guy, go david go :)
