More a "couldn't enter" than "outtake" because it needed more than basic editing, but I like it so I'm putting it here anyway :P

I made my usual interpretive mistake...
"has the reputation of being unappetizing" I understood to mean Health Food...like, tofu, Tempeh Burgers, Veggie Nuggets and Sprouts etc. They don't look appetizing..."make them look good for a change."
I didn't think they meant Apples...or tomatoes, which I think look beautiful all by themsalves and very appetizing. Not too difficult to make those items look good.
The image is sharp...not across the board but certainly in the current dof style you'll see in all the magazines. Since it looked ok to me, I stupidly didn't even notice that the cornstarch thickened sauce appeared dull and cloudy giving it a less than sharp appearance. My bad but what can you do...
I had this one in for a day and then pulled it which landed me a job shooting for Kyotofu. I thought it was a DNMC and not in the spirit of the Challenge.
Apricot Tofu Flan w/Sesame Snaps and Sparkling Saki
Here are three from the shoot that I did last Friday. I could have taken them for the Challenge but again, I thought they were dnmcs.

eta: the last 3 images were taken for publication and one of them will most likely appear in New York Magazine within a few weeks. Oddly, I think they would all have tanked in the Challenge.
