I was just kidding about my husband. He doesn't have anything against my hobbies. Without him I wouldn't have the Rebel now. And he might get involved in this too (after the hunting season, of course). He loves to take pictures and he has a Minolta Maxxum 450 si. |

Because it didn't meet the challenge ?
After all - there are at least 2 people there... |

There are a lot of conspiracy theories being launched here. No one has suggested the obvious reason that there are a few 1's and 2's there. Perhaps that many people felt the shot deserved a 1 or a 2. They didn't like it. The composition rubbed them the wrong way, the fact that the model's skin is a little blown-out made them dislike the shot. Face it folks, people give low votes because they don't like photos. It's not a wide conspiracy plot directed against you. They just didn't like it. And strangely enough, that's their right. |

StevePax is on the right track. I ran the vote histogram into a very quick canned statistical analysis I use to study the voting patterns and it fits the expected normal distribution to a tee (r-squared = 0.9982).
The conclusion is that the 1s and 2s are expected and are not, in this case, "troll" or outlier votes.

"I concider this to be one of my best photo's to date"
I like the photo, but by no means do I think its one of your best. I voted it a 6, but it is not one of your best.

Yeah, what StevePax said. And they give high votes when they do like your photos. And this is a valid procedure even when they don't/can't articulate why, and therefore don't leave a comment. Get used to it. |

That's a pretty hollow argument--if that's the case none of the entries met the challenge, the photographer's always "there." I think it's silly to get *that* technical. This picture definitly says "all alone" to me.
crabappl3--I wouldn't worry too much about the 1's and 2's. Though I've only just started participating in challenges I've lurked for a bunch and it seems, as others have pointed out, that there's always going to be someone who finds something wrong with even the best picture. I'd still say 34/329 is an awesome job (but then, I haven't won 8 ribbons!)
