More of a railing against the current style of high colour, high sharpness photography, typified by flickr and here, than anything particularly coherent. Makes for interesting reading, even if it just winds you up.

and this for commentary on the original article.

Good articles and commentary. I think it's just normal behaviour by people with creativity and imagination. What we're seeing is the evolution of photography into a true means to express one's personality and character on a medium that almost everyone on this planet will have access to in the near future.

When I was shooting in the late 70's and early 80's I always dreamt of manipulating images as we do today. I used to cut out pictures from magazines and create montages of whatever was on my mind back then. It's no different than what we're doing today with digital files. I'm having the same fun as I was having back then with photoshop and the hundreds of images I have access to at the spur of the moment. It's the time that I no longer have.

Interestingly enough the photographer they reference in the article just recently had another bunch of photos swiped and then posted on IStockphoto.
From her site:
"I mean for crying out loud, out of 31 images this particular user has on his "porfolio" , 25 of them are mine, and at least 3 are of me..:

I guess that's something that Henri Cartier-Bresson didn't have to worry about. However, according to the article Henri's shots wouldn't be well received on Flickr anyways :)
