I'm going to try and get a shot in this week.
It seems like people are posting images with White Balance issues. Not sure why...maybe conflicting light sources?

I did a workshop with this guy a month ago which helped me a bit but if you're starting out you might like this book.

So, few and far between seems to be the way right now.
On Saturday I visited with friends in Helsinki. We decided to go for Sushi, my favourite, as there really isn't anywhere good in the town I live in. It was a fun evening but I am sure my friends now think I have totally lost the plot as I start taking pictures of our food.
We started off with champagne cocktails (yes, they are a bit pink) and then had a sushi platter. I am painfully aware the sushi platter is grainy and out of focus.
The lighting was horrible and I only had my 18-200 (hardly the best in low light). I cranked up the ISO to 2500 and hoped for the best. Now, had I been alone and not holding my friends up, I would have taken a bunch of shots, as it is, I only managed one or two. Not satisfied with them, so posting only for a bit of fun.

At first sight this does not look like a cooking or food photo but.......... My father-in-law gave us a lemon tree for a wedding present. It was planted this past weekend. Upon close inspection, there are over two dozen baby lemons and lots of blossoms and buds. i will be begging for lemon recipes by the end of summer.

Chicken pot pie. Hubby was quite excited, he had never seen home made pot pie before. |

Hello everyone - haven't forgotten about participating in this side challenge. First few days of April were totally crazy at work and I am leaving tomorrow for a much needed vacation in Dominican Republic :D . So, while I won't be cooking at the resort, I plan to document Dominican food and present it here when I get back. I will be back on April 19 so I'll start posting then. Thanks for your patience! |

Salmon En Croute:
Basically salmon steaks wrapped in puff pastry. Between the pastry and the salmon you have crab pate underneath and mushrooms blended in the food processor on top.
Served with new potatoes, purple sprouting broccoli and hollandaise sauce. |

I absolutely love how you document all the steps. Wish I could do this, but I tend to get lost in the cooking and forget photos until the end. |
