I went from 7.8+ this morning to 6.7 now, and still dropping
While I didn't expect the high score this morning I'm getting concerned at the size of the drop and how long it's going on for : ( |

I figured mid-sixes on this one so nothing looks fishy at the moment. I've been known to be wrong; I guess I'll see tomorrow if the score adjusts. |

From 7 to 6 to 5 to 4. I wonder if I can get a negative score by the time this is over. My lowest score in a long time. I think it is time for a break before I go completely MAD!!!! Never the less, I still love this place. See...madness! |

You think you've got problems Andi - I've droped 1.3 since this morning and it's still going south.
I've got form Uber PB, to 'top line', to 'not even top line', who knows where it's headed ?
To be honest I have no-idea whether the scores were touched or not this year - but I suspect not, as there were a whole range of them all through the day. So unless they found some way of randomly tampering with the scores then I suspect we all have what we have . .
Hey ho . . . could be worse

Well, not much in the way of change since my last update. I little higher, but not the perfect score I was hoping for....Yeah, like that would ever happen. Just a thought, but come this Christmas, is Santa (Bag Head) going to give each of us a 10?

I'm at least hoping these have been tampered with. I had high hopes for this image and i don't feel like I'm over estimating the shot. I feel like it is easily better than a six but, who knows.

My photo is not a real good one, and I would not be surprised if it goes bad... But I'm here to learn, and to learn I should know what is wrong with my photos... Sincerely, I don't expect everybody vote with consistent criteria on so many photos for this type of challenge...
So, I would like to suggest a few things:
-Stop with Free Studies. Nobody seems to vote consistently on these challenges. This could be replaced with a Monthly Challenge comprising one of the themes from the past month challenges... it would be a second chance for that challenge, and a way for limiting the number of photos on the challenge.
-The commenting system needs to be improved. A drop down with common pos and cons should help the voter to judge the photo more consistently, and this would help the author of the photo to improve and learn.
-Maybe the voting system should be divided in categories, so the voter can judge different aspects of the photo, like technically (light, focus, DOF, etc), creativity, accordance to the theme.
-This one is good: Votes from experienced photographers should have more weight than the newbies. This can be afforded with simple calcs with the voter's average score and then applying a 50% more weight to the votes from the voters that have higher average scores. And the weight of the vote could be gradually higher, proportional do the average score of the voter.
This could be easily implemented with simple changes to the site and could be implemented gradually, starting with a few challenges and then migrating the entire site to this new system.
What you say about that? |

I don't mind free studies. Even when my score isn't stellar. Yes, I would like more comments but that is not always going to happen and I accept that. I just love taking photos, learning and sharing.

I have found that if you comment more on othere they are more likely to comment on yours. Try some side challenges. They are always good about suggesting things.

| my FS is at 5.2791. Down from 6.5 in the last ten votes. Time to check out of this nuthouse. I should have more of a sense of humor, but with the Curves shot at the personal-worst, I entered a tried and true dpc-friendly in the FS. |

Maybe they're giving us all someone else's score?
But mine is right in line w/ the scores I usually get - even though I thought it was a very nice image. And my 2 "real" commenters seem to like it. Just please stop falling!

Yeah! I'd trade scores with someone. I was actually hoping for a score with a bit more. Say add another +.5 too it!
