There is a park directly behind the Dr. Pepper Stars Center in Frisco that would work great. However, there are usually 5 or 6 photographers there at any time so you have to fight for spots. |

For both portraits and architecture, consider downtown, Dallas Arboretum, Thanksgiving Square, Old City Park, White Rock Lake, the park you pass going down East Grand Ave. to get to White Rock Lake, Fair Park (over by the Old Mill restaurant is kinda cool)...there are tons of places to go. I'm in a brain freeze right now but I'll think of some others later.
If you are up to driving north a bit, McKinney has a nice park called Towne Lake I think, and the nature walk place next to it is really pretty for woodland scenery for portraits.

Probably heading to Dallas for 12 days in May.
Also visiting Waxahachie and the Scarborough Ren Faire.
Any suggestions for things to shoot, see or do in the areas?
Any day trips from Dallas or Waxahachie?
I would love to take a distance shot of the Dallas skyline. Not sure where the vantage point might be. Can anyone advise?
Got great suggestions from you all for places to stop while we were in San Francisco - lets hear about Dallas.

I was in Dallas last month.
Check out my photos of Dallas, including some skyline shots. All the photos are geotagged, so you can see exactly where they were taken on a map.
To view the map, while looking at each individual photo, over on the right side of the page, it will have, "Taken in Dallas, Texas (map)". Click on the word "map".
You can see the location from where I took the Dallas skyline shots. However, for that location, I suggest not going alone. :-(
I also drove over to Fort Worth one afternoon to take some photos.
Enjoy!
