Truly an outtake, since I missed entering it by about 10 seconds.

This was a fun challenge for me. I liked the abstracts in my own work and a lot of the entries (though I also liked a few that weren't terribly abstract), and was particularly drawn to ones with some sort of light play that gave texture to the image with the light and the blur. Definitely something I want to experiment some more with for floral subjects, especially.

Some of the outtakes. I really like my entry and it's actually the wallpaper on my desktop atm. It looks bad on differently calibrated monitors though. I probably should have submitted a more messy one though but I ended up in a complete can't choose brainfreeze after spending a weekend capturing my cat in a blurry way.

This is my other half's entry as lots of people were saying the editing was illegal! The only post processing she did was boosting the colours!

is this [thumb]659467[/thumb]

btw, the non blurry image is in my portfolio because a) she is not a full member and b) I took the non blurry image because I didn't even consider it!

Now that I look at the results, the first outtake probably would have done better, and I almost chose it but I thought it didn't meet the challenge, and wasn't abstract enough... shows me!

I liked the photo, but not too messy.

my second choice, I saw faces in the water. :P

A few blurry outtakes:

Here's what I entered:

In hindsight, I think either of the outtakes was more accessible, instantly gratifying maybe. I noticed, though, that mine did score well among those who commented (relative to those that finished around me). Not sure what that means. Fun challenge anyway...
