Still unpopular with the voters ...

My Free Study entry ... no one could tell what it is ... ;-)

From the image details section:

Safety grating above the east portal of the Caldecott Tunnel against a rainy, overcast sky -- blur due to slow shutter speed and 40+ MPH lateral motion while shooting up through the windshield. "Colorized" with Curves in post-processing.

Link to resized original:

-RGB Curve _ } Link to Gallery
-Blue Curve _} with screen shots
-Red Curve _ } of color Curves
-Resize
-Crop from bottom to 3:2 aspect ratio
-USM at 12%/48 dia/TH = 0 (applied twice)
-SaveAs JPEG at quality 9/10 = 186kb

More views of the grating over the Caldecott Tunnel ... these are resized but otherwise unedited (as yet, anyway):

I keep getting different views of this safety grating as I go through the tunnel ...

... and a shot of the inside of the tunnel itself

Seeing that there is currently a blur challenge in progress, don't you think this should wait until voting is over?

My photo has nothing to do with the blur challenge and is not an outtake of any kind. In fact, my entry in the blur challenge doesn't even have a bird in it! This thread has been here for quite some time, and I believe it's the SC's decision to close it during the blur challenge if posts are unwarranted.

I don't see how posting in this thread in any way effects the voting? Are you going to change your votes in the blurry challenge because I posted a photo in this thread? Wow...I'm flattered I have that much power.

[thumb]658481[/thumb] - 5. Good, not blurry enough.
[thumb]582051[/thumb] - 10. Perfect!
- 4. Ok, not blurry enough.
- 3. Too abstract, no discernable subject.

Folks,
I know this wa a pre-existing thread, and I don't like to ask, but the community clearly supports the outtakes rule, which means we need to not post and discuss what would be considered outtakes from a challenge currently in voting. I'm going to lock the thread temporarily, (and reluctantly). We'll unlock it upon request after voting is over.

My apologies for posting a blurry photo during the blurry challenge. My blurry brain did not intentionally wish to trigger any negative reactions including the locking of this thread during that time period. In all honesty, I was quite surprised anyone noticed since my blurry photos usually do not get many views and rarely receive even a comment. I have withdrawn the photos in order to avoid further confusion and negative reactions (intentional, inadvertent or otherwise)and will refrain from posting such photos in the future.

For those of you who did appreciate my blurry photos, you are all my heros!

You can put them back now ... :-)

I suppose at the end of the day..."There's no place like home."

Will post the rest tomorrow...;-)

While we were driving up into the Easy Bay Hills to take photos of the moonrise, IsaacM88 took this picture of the Bay/Golden Gate Bridge at sunset out of the car window.

I did some mild noise-reduction and adjusted the color and sharpening, but there's no cropping or rotation.

Original: Edited (my version*):

* Isaac says he'll play around with the photo this weekend ...

This little guy wasn't appreciating the paparazzi much this morning...
