I have a chance to go anywhere in the world for maybe 24-72 hours in the next 30-60 days. I have to a few days to figure it out..where in the world would you go if you had between 24-72 hours to go to shoot photos?

Well I donĂ¢€™t know how long you have been here, but you might have seen a shot or two of a place that has really pretty girls, and awesome night time skies.

With only 24-72 hours of shooting, MOAB, Utah.

With only that short period of time I'd like to limit or eliminate jet lag.

Or better yet, no flying or long drive, I'd just go to Jasper, Alberta.

Depends on what you want to shoot and if travel time is a factor. Some of my favorite sites are: Rome and the outlying regions of Lazio, Oslo, Tokyo and Mt. Fuji, Rio de Janeiro, and Kauai, HI.

I've had good shoots in Dubai, Perth, Singapore, London and No. California as well, but the above are places I can't wait to return to again.

For that short of time period, you may also want to consider Monument Valley and White Sands in the US southwest.

... and when all those fall through, there's always Las Vegas.

I back-packed across Mexico and Guatamala before I discovered photography. I got some great photo with my 35mm point and shoot. I saw more than twenty ancient cities that had been inhabited by Olmecs, Zapotecs, Aztecs, Mayans and more. I'd love to return now with my camera and see how much I've learned and hopefully do it better.

If your into.....

Landscapes: Iceland for the sky's & light or New Zealand for greens or central/northern/western Australia or US south-west area for browns.
People: India or Thailand or China.
Ruins: Egypt or China or Thailand or Mexico.
Architecture: Chicago/New York or Hong Kong or Moscow.
Castles: Scotland or Germany.
The list goes on....

If you are not used to travel then as someone mentioned for that short of a period, the timezone swaps might be an issue with the longer ones.... and you are eating into time getting there & back.

Thanks everyone for your input I have been to some of the places you all have suggested: Thailand, Tokyo, Europe and Mexico and various parts of the US so I'm looking to go somewhere new.

I understand about the travel time/jetlag being a potential issue however I'm kind of throwing caution to the wind as this is a once in a lifetime opportunity so I'll basically suck it up.

Right now at the top of the list are: Iceland, New Zeland, Hong Kong, Alaska and Kauai, HI.

So well see where I end up!
