Congrats to both Jeffrey AND Bruce the Robert on their food entries. Without Rob sending me a PM I'd never have known. I totally FORGOT about entering.
I sent Rob a thank you, but again totally forgot to offer my congrats on the bananas shot. It made me think of my favorite Harry Chapin tune "80,000 pounds of bananas", Rob if you've never heard it you must find it on the web and give a listen.
I was holed up in the Washington Hospital Center taking care of my oldest son after his operation for several days and couldn't get a connection for the laptop. So I've missed a lot on DPC in the last week or so.
And, Jeffrey, of course, deserved that win. I love his glass shots.

My new "used" replacement lens came today! Yay! I picked the closest one on the list to add to my profile, but asked them to add the right one. The *72 does stand for the filter size, so now I need new filters. The one I picked off the list has a 62mm filter size. No one happens to have any old 72mm filters laying around that they do longer use, do they? I'll be out playing with it today.

have fun, just don't drop it in the snow! :-)

Am trying to comment on all blurred entries, b/c I am terrible at commenting as somehave probably noticed - not cause I don't want to, but I only have so-called 'accelerated dialup'...about 50% faster than reg dialup but by no means highspeed...so please be patient...and consider my comments as common as hen's teeth! Try saying THAT three times fast!:-)

I think I'm caught up at last on my comments where I made the mistake of getting the high score. If I missed ya, lemme know! :)

And a reminder that if you screw up and have the highest score of your challenge, or the week, it's a nice thing to go through and comment on other Suckers' entries. Of course, it's always a nice thing to comment on other Suckers' entries any time you feel like it, too!

I've totally lost track of this. My parents are being moved to an assisted living facility. My focus is elsewhere. Can you be my conscience and direct me to my obligations?

Wow, I got 4 comments on my blur shot, including a couple from Team Suck!

I made a new variant of my tamale recipe today, with an apple pie like filling (homemade, of course). They turned out great. I'd share the recipe, except there wasn't really one. I just diced a bunch of apples (5 or 6), added some cinnamon and a few tablespoons of brown sugar, cooked it awhile (20-30 minutes?), and added it to come chopped banana.

I used to have a circular polarizer in that size, but I gave it to my friend (with the lens it fit and the d60 camera body) as a wedding gift.

robert, i'm sorry to hear that - a very stressful time for all involved. if there were any obligations for you to fulfill, they are waived, as far as i'm concerned. i don't think there were any for you last week anyway, were there?

Robert, on a few threads I have been given a "pass" because of other obligations in my life. I am sure you will be given the same. My thoughts are with you in this stressful time.

Hi everyone, I haven̢۪t been on much the past few days and wanted to let everyone know why. On the way home from work Thursday I stopped to check on my mother who is 83 and lives alone and found her asleep on her bed and couldn̢۪t wake her. It appears her blood sugar dropped very low and has done brain damage. I have been with her the entire time, The doctors don̢۪t think she will be with us much longer but no one knows for sure. She is still asleep and all the tests they have run show no brain wave activity. Last night we removed all life support as this was in you wills medical directions. I have no idea how much longer she will last so in don̢۪t know when I will get back to taking photos and entering challenges.
Sorry for the long post I just wanted to let everyone know why I haven̢۪t been on.

Dave

Dave, Just remember that our thoughts are with you. And we'll be here when you feel up to returning to the fold.
I'll keep you in my thoughts and hope for the best.

Many blessings, Dave. I hope her last moments, however many of them there may be, are peaceful. And that the time until then, and after, are as peaceful for you as possible.

Been a while away from this thread, seem to have missed much...

Good luck, Brian, on your tests - check in again soon, as you know we will all be wondering and hoping things work out well for you.

I'm sorry to hear your mother took such a turn, David - this has been a hard year for you concerning your parents. Many sympathies to you and your family.

Hello and all the best to everyone, especially those else I may have missed news of further down in this thread...

Well wishes all..
I̢۪m in harsh environments, and LOL I̢۪m guessing it wont be received well, by anyone, but its cool, it seems I̢۪m feeling a bit artistic recently..

We'll miss you and your photos, Dave. I hope this will not be a long drawn out process. You and your mother deserve a quick relief from suffering. I'll be thinking of you.
