I think its pretty much like it went down, they were worried about ben releasing the gas b/c they figure he would rather have everyone die on the island than give it up to the people on the freighter. So they intervened and did something to make sure he couldnt do that. I don't think this necessarily means that the freighters are on 'our' side, I think their actions were done more for their own safety, not the losties.

Knowing that whidmore is in charge of the freighter (atleast we know for a FACT now!) is probably going to be a big deal. It's obviously going to be a fight between ben and whidmore. Seems Sayid eventually chooses Ben's side...

i think ashley's pretty much got it right, though i'd suggest sayid didn't so much choose ben and ben choose and pressured sayid. look at juliette last night and how ben nearly got her to do exactly what he wanted.

i think 3 basic groups exist. ben & the others, whidmore and his people, and our losties and those, like penny, who arn't motivated by the island and it's mojo...

interesting bit from last night, did anyone notice the book that ben was reading? (how could you not since they panned across it so slowly coming into the scene...) it was one of philip k dick's last novels called VALIS. (here's the cover)

for those of who don't know, dick was a scifi writer who's original stories became a few movies you might have heard of : blade runner, total recall, minority report, paycheck, next... (to name a few...)

VALIS looks like it would be an interesting read in itself, but even more to see if there's a clue to 'lost', or just another rabbit they want us to chase...

I think Walt will be Ben's spy on the boat. The time travel aspect will be able to explain his age. Ben presumably told Locke who the spy was and said he had better sit down, an indication that Locke would be surprised by who it was. It could also be Michael, but it would be more interesting if it is Walt.

Do you mean ben and the others as in Ben and Locke and the losties? or Ben and the actual others? B/c the actual others are indeed still out there

I've seen people on Lostpedia talking about this book, I don't know too much about it but it has been brought up in the forums before it was shown in the show......kinda interesting i guess...

I don't know if anyone saw this but Dominic Monoghan was on Jay Leno and he said hes going to have some art in a gallery i think in California and 20 percent of the proceeds go to charity.
Heres the site with all his photographs He's got some pretty interesting images here, I personally would LOVE to own the second one (with Hurley in it I think :) )

I don't follow this thread super closely, so maybe this was discussed, but has everyone seen this?

I've seen it, I have a really boring job so I had time to read through the whole thing!! The guy who wrote it, wrote it before season 4 and desmonds apparent time travel, I heard he is re-working his theory to fit the new season. It is very interesting, don't know how much of it will turn out to be true though!

For those that have not seen Season 4 Episode 7 STOP READING NOW!

thoughts? Did Jin make it off alive? Is he still alive? If he is, does Sun know? Why would Jin say he's only been married for two months? IS Jin an Oceanic 6? If not, does that make Aaron one of the six?

Was it a Jin flashback and a Sun flashforward? That's what I think it is.

So many new questions. I love it.

Oh, and who dies next week? I think I know because I accidentally read a spoiler. I don't like it if it's true. If you know too, don't spoil it for others who don't.

No Jin did not make it off. Jin's part was BEFORE the crash. That was the last hit he did before the plane crash.

Jin is NOT an O6 and I am starting to think that Aaron is.

And my thoughts are Claire dies next week.

Sad part, I don't think there's a "Pop-up Video" rerun next week (premier of "Miss Guided" in it's normal timeslot). That probably would have explained the flashback/forward question.

Yeah sorry, you might remember Jin said that he was only married for 2 months. He has only been married once. The producers just wanted to make it look like Jin was going to the hospital to see sun but like she said she was calling out his name but he never showed up... He was already dead at this point.

As I posted earlier, I agree with you (as he was working for Sun's father in those scenes), but I guess we'll have to wait to Lindeloff and Cuse to verify.
