how do you vote on a challenge like this? I know some people break down their voting by categories like technicals and meeting challenge, interesting or not etc. Seems like the only thing you have going for you is that you meet the challenge though some blurs are interesting. Blurring can enhance a picture if used well, but a blurry "mess" to me means going beyond that point of being good blur.

Actually the challenge said blurry and yet captivating. Blurring in moderation is what for example can make an excellent portrait. This was extreme but I think fresh and a great way to explore outside the bounds of what is usually considered a good photo. I judged based on a few things.
1- is it blurry.... there were several that were clear as a bell therefore I think they should be voted as a 1 they didnt even try to match the challenge however I laughed when I saw the intensionally oversharpened one
2- Did it catch my attention. This was a great challenge to really stretch yourself and there were a lot of really creative shots (as well as some really bad ones)
3- (possibly the most important one) Did the blur add to the picture. If so I think the photographer did their job.

I'm so disappointed you did not enter this challenge!!! I fully expected yours to be sitting (next to mine) on the front page...You are The Wizard of this challenge, my Dear...
Voting this challenge will depend on how comfortable you are with blur and how much we all can appreciate how hard it is to shoot really good blur as opposed to just plain ol' out of focus. Mine is somewhere inbetween.
It's an acquired taste I guess...
