Bravo E_S, for commenting/commenting agenda, and others too for liking the "story." (I am interested in the EXIF because I am thinking of moving up to a DSLR, and to keep motivated I need to salivate over small apertures and decent resolution at ISO's over 50. And although much post-processing is way beyond me, I feel obligated to think Someday...) Meanwhile, behind on posting and commenting. |

I was just screwing around and wondered what my Free Study entry would look like if the only thing I did was a simple B&W conversion. So I checked the monochrome box in the channel mixer......

I've taken a little more to documenting the city a bit before it all fades away to development. I realize that things which may not interest me much today will be gone with a blink of an eye and then I'll be sorry for not getting those shots, while I had the chance.

WK-09
I̢۪m behind in posting, I've waited because I wanted to use this shot but had another from the same series in the free study. I need to catch-up now and I really need to catch-up on comments. |

Week #7...
This is the first time that I have changed a photo in this side-challenge, but even I was a little under-whelmed.
I trust that this photo is better. Enjoy! :)

Week 10:
Does anybody know what week we're on? I'm too tired to think about it. |

A week of critical feedback only...
What do you guys think about having a week (any upcoming week) where we only leave critical comments (i.e. areas of improvement)?
All to often we (myself included) get in the habbit on providing praises on photos that we really like, and forget to provide feedback to those photos that are not as appealing to us (or have certain perceived flaws).
I think that we are all civil enough to handle a week of critical feedback, and plus I think it would be really helpful to the photographer (myself included) to get some hints on our to improve ones photos.
I welcome any positive [or critical] feedback on this suggestion.

Sherwin,
I know I would appreciate more critical comments. I don't know that specifically being critical just to be critical will help. It is helpful for the commenter to be honest in their appraisal as well as those receiving the comment not to be too sensitive on the subject.

Sounds good. Sign me up.
Just give me a thumbs up and I'll release the hounds. ;)

I've been trying to do some of that as I go along, but only with some basics. Hopefully folks haven't minded when I offer a few specific things to try. Keep in mind that those things are generally along the lines of my taste and likes, and perhaps not that of the photographer.
And go for it, Steve. Hound away.
Do we want to go back through the entries, or perhaps choose one from each active participant for feedback? |

BTW, I'm trying not to post any image just to fill the week only in order to keep up. I don't want to waste anyones time in an obligatory sense, so if I don't have any real shot of some value (by my standard) is it ok if I refrain from posting?
I can always post something but that's not the point.
