The photography fellowships support mid-career artists residing in Minnesota who use photography as primary means of creative, personal expression. The $25,000 fellowships awarded in June enable four artists to study, reflect, experiment, and explore over a 12-month period.

TECHNICAL SESSIONS
Technical sessions are meant to demonstrate the online application process, focusing on the technical aspects of the application only. All sessions will take place at MCP. These events are free, but please phone MCP at 612.824.5500 to reserve a spot.

FAQs and information about eligibility, restrictions, examples of work by past fellowship recipients, and the review process can be found on the program's web site, //www.mcknightphoto.org (which is accessible through MCP's site, //www.mncp.org).
Work created during the fellowship year is featured in an exhibition at MCP. Fellows participate in a public presentation about their work, an exhibit publication, web portfolio, as well as opportunities to work with MCP's educational program. Fellows have additional opportunities to consult with one or more of the review panelists about their accomplishments during the fellowship year.
Support for individual artists has been a cornerstone of the McKnight Foundation's arts program since it began in 1981. The foundation's overall interest in enriching community recognizes that artists and their contributions are vital to the state's health. McKnight Artist Fellowships deliver significant financial assistance to individuals whose work demonstrates accomplishment and the promise of continued excellence. Awards are made in 12 disciplines through 9 arts organizations and presenters.

6 month internship with the NW Herald.
The NW Herald is an intensely community-focused publication.
The ideal candidate will have passion, initiative, the ability to be avisual storyteller, have an understanding of the demands of community journalism. The photo staff in Crystal Lake is made up of 3 full-time shooters a picture editor and an imaging tech who all shoot.
This is a paid internship, $440/wk, mileage is reimbursed at $.37/mile. Canon digital gear is provided, intern must have reliable transportation and current insurance. This internship will run from mid-July through the end of the year. Applicants must also pass a drug test and background check. Portfolios with multimedia presentations (video or audio slideshows) as well as a diverse collection of still images will have the upper hand. Previous internship experience is preferred.

International Studio Programme 2008/2009

Temple Bar Gallery and Studios (TBG) is one of Irelandテつケs leading
contemporary art venues. Centrally located in Dublinテつケs cultural quarter,
TBG is a publicly-funded, not-for-profit arts organisation. The organisation
was set-up by artists in 1983 and is dedicated to the promotion,
presentation and mediation of contemporary visual art and to the provision
of affordable studio space to artists. The building, which is distinctive
for its clean modernist lines, integrates a spacious gallery at ground
floor, an impressive atrium space and thirty artistsテつケ studios over three
floors.
Of the thirty artistsテつケ studios at Temple Bar Gallery and Studios, one is
reserved for international artists while the others are allocated to
Dublin-based artists on a competitive basis. The International Studio
Programme at TBG offers an opportunity for artists based outside of Ireland
to live and work in Dublin for a period of three months. The programme aims
to encourage international contacts for artists and to provide artists with
opportunities for researching and developing their creative practice in a
Dublin context.
The International Studio Programme is open to visual artists who work in all
disciplines. The international studio is the largest in size (71m sq) and
one of the best in the building. It is not a residential studio. Liaison
staff at Temple Bar Gallery and Studios provides assistance in locating
suitable accommodation in Dublin city. The cost of the studio is 250 Euros
per month.
Temple Bar Gallery and Studios is also interested in developing its
International Artist Exchange Programme with similar arts organisations.
TBG has established a successful artistic exchange partnership with HIAP -
Helsinki International Artist-in-residence Programme.
Facilities
All studio costs, such as heating, lighting, and water, are covered by
Temple Bar Gallery and Studios and there is a common kitchen area for
preparing lunch. Studios include basic furnishings (desk and chair). Guest
artists also have access to limited administrative support and office
equipment (photocopier, fax, computers for email and internet) available
upon request during office hours. Wireless Internet access is provided for
artists throughout the building.
No studio equipment is provided. However, Temple Bar Gallery and Studios can
provide access to organisations in Dublin (darkrooms, video editing and
print making facilities) that can provide the use of equipment for visiting
artists.
Applying
Applications for the International Studio are assessed on the basis of a
specific proposal and the quality of work and experience. Proposals should
include a detailed plan for the use of the studio over the three month

Journalists from Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America or the Middle East are invited to apply for climate change fellowships that will allow journalists to take part in media activities at the UN climate change summit, being held in Poznan, Poland in December.
The deadline for applications is October 13.
The fellowships, which are being offered through the Climate Change Media Partnership, will allow selected journalists to enhance their knowledge of environmental issues and to develop their professional journalism skills through media activities offered during the summit.
The Climate Change Media Partnership will provide travel, travel insurance, accommodation and a daily subsistence expense allowance to the journalists selected. Journalists must arrange their own visas.

Applications Now Open: New Indigenous Media Internship

ScreenWest in partnership with the Film & Television Institute (FTI) is calling for applications for the 2009 FTI Indigenous Media Internship. This initiative is aimed at developing long term career path opportunities for Indigenous filmmakers.
The 9 month FTI Indigenous Media Internship will include:
- A place in the Diploma in Screen & Media (Digital Production) CUF50107 at the Film and Television Institute
- 6 week project based work placement at FTI designed specifically for the Internテ「冱 interests
The internship will cover the course costs and then provide an income during the six weeks project based work placement. Relocation and/or accommodation costs will not be covered under this scheme.
We are looking for two self-motivated, creatively ambitious people with some media experience. In selecting the intern, priority will be given to applicants with a demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in the Western Australian film and television industry, an understanding of the art of storytelling and the potential to make a significant contribution to indigenous screen culture in Western Australia.

ScreenWest and FTI invite Indigenous applicants from Western Australia (*see below for WA Resident Guidelines), who are 17 years old or over. The Cleveland Indians are looking for Intern Candidates for the upcoming 2009 season. This is an unpaid internship but you will receive college credit.
Job duties will include photographing everything from pre game activities to in game action photos and Indians events. Job duties will also include photo cataloging and keywording.
You will be asked to use your own equipment for most of your duties; one is not supplied to you.
The internship dates would be for the baseball season (we can be flexible to work around your school schedule) but looking to interview/hire before the end of Jan so I can meet you before I head to spring training.

Berwick Research Institute Residency
The Berwick Research Institute (with studios in Boston, Massachusetts), invites emerging artists or artist groups (NOT enrolled in undergraduate studies) to submit proposals for research that require time, space and critical feedback. The AIR Program is particularly interested in working with artists who explore contemporary and experimental concepts and media.
Dates of Residencies: April 1 テ「 June 15, July 1 テ「 September 15 and October 1 テ「 December 15.
Each Air resident will be required to テ「徃ive backテ「 to the Berwick as the artist sees fit, within one year of the end of their residency term.
