Does anyone know of a way to diffuse the light coming from a flash from this camera? It's frustrating when anything you do close up is blown out....

I've seen pics of "ring flash" mods for the Sony DSC-F717 where they used aluminium paper to reflect the flash backwards and onto a doughnut-shaped container lined with aluminium wrappings.
Theoretically you could use a similar concept, i.e. putting a reflective surface (e.g. mirror or aluminium paper) in front of the flash to reflect it back onto a diffuse surface (e.g. white cardboard).
Sorry if this doesn't help much....

What do you use? A single layer? A little ball o' TP? How do you fasten it? Tape?

Trial and error... depends on how much diffusion is required... if i'm usig my tripod, i just hold it in front of the flash.
