Drop, drop, drop.

I went from PB a couple days ago to not even in my top five today.

While I appreciate the score, it's the drop that drives me crazy.

I'm a little dissapointed with the score but no comments is probably a good indicator that it sucks.

Note - to a lot of us, a 6.1 doesn't suck. I have something like a 5.6 and falling last I looked (yesterday), and thought it was a pretty good score, all told. I guess it REALLY blows, huh? Oh, and no comments.

I want to add that when I vote in a challenge I try and give three 10s. The top three I think should ribbon. Well this time it is very hard. I have went through and voted on every image. I have so far given 4 - 10s, 14 - 9s, and 33 - 8s. I usually never have a hard time picking just three of my favorites and usually only give out about 3 or so 9s to boot. This challenge has been a real pleasure to vote on. Now I will be going back and doing some minor adjustments on my scores and commenting on a few.

I borrowed your guy because I was too lazy to go get my own.

Amen! 6.1 would be very nice right now. Also in the 5.6 range and no comments.

Question: With a total of 455 photographs entered into the challenge, is it typical to have such a low number of voters or can I expect an onslaught of voting over the next 12 hours?

My current score:
(I have been told this pretty good for my first challenge)?)

Very good for your first challenge. I wouldn't expect an onslaught of votes during the next 36 hours (ends tomorrow I believe).

Looks like I have a chance at getting above 6.5 if the voters can just stay in a good mood....
03/06/2008 04:39:01 PM · #140
jeez, one 5 vote dropped me from #3 spot to #5, guess that pb hope is dead and buried :(

Mind you, Melethia is right, shouldn't be moaning about the score!

I love how you can̢۪t have an opinion or expectations here without someone wanting to shot you down in the forums.

All I stated was that I was a little disappointed with the score!! I̢۪m sure most people are a little disappointed with there score. When I entered this image I was hoping for a 6.5

Obviously the lack of comments was a good indicator that most people thought it sucks.

Sorry for having a higher expectation for my Free Study images then you.

Note - to a lot of us, a 6.1 is less then we expected.

I think my point was a lack of comments accompanied by a 6.1 doesn't indicate it sucks. In most cases, that indicates it's a good shot, worthy of a 6 or higher from the individual voter. If they thought it truly sucked, you probably still wouldn't have any comments, but your score would not be a 6.1 either. I rarely comment on the really good shots - I figure they get enough as it is without my "Great shot!" thrown in there. So if you had one of those, you didn't get a comment from me but did get a score better than a 6.

I got comments!!! Yes, not just one, but two!!! I'm good on this free study now. (Won't know the score until after rollover, though.)

Well, I'm sitting in Helsinki airport, flight delayed 3 + hours. Groan.

Just thought I'd use the free access to check my score (update withdrawal.....). Clearly the monitor is NOT calibrated. Oh boy, I now know why some shots get low scores. My FS looks very flat and dull on this uncalibrated monitor. Hmmmmmm. How to remember this when processing the next challenge picture.

My personal thanks to karmat, posthumous, and krnodil. You guys have made my FS entry worthwhile regardless of the score. Very much appreciate you taking the time to leave a word or two.

Very nice rise overnight.

I commented on a handful of pictures last night I that gave a score of 5 to, and will do more today/tonight. What a shame that the avg picture is getting only 3.1 comments.

I'm sitting above my usual 5.2 so I'm happy. Best thing is the five comments. Thank you to: chinarosepetal, karmat, soulman1978, JR and wizardry!
