If you are in or near Phoenix, come and see my photo exhibit this Friday!

I'm showing a few pieces at Purple Wall Studios at 2009 N 7th Street (north/east corner of 7th Street and Palm Lane - you can't miss it, it's a purple and green building with a giant mural facing south).

We will be open from 6-10 PM. The space is also on the First Friday shuttle route.

There will be wine and goodies, also Eddie Elliot will be performing - he's amazing - you should check it out. Several other artists will be represented as well.

If you need more info, you are welcome to PM or email me.

 I'm pretty excited. :o) |

The deed is done! Thank all of you who were so supportive. I also had a lot of support from local friends who came to my photo show.

Here are some snaps of the event - well, at least the beginning. I was slightly hysterical from the excitement and (albeit positive) stress, and decided to imbibe. So later shots were taken when I was somewhat inebriated. Fortunately, I'm able to use one for Blurry Mess - ha!

Got to the gallery around 4PM to hang the show [thumb]656471[/thumb]

[thumb]656472[/thumb] Toni was kind enough to help me get my bearings with that hanging strip. First I couldn't get the screws in.

Exhibiting with me in the same space was a glass artist. Here's our sign: [thumb]656473[/thumb]

After initial struggles, it only took me about 40 minutes to hang the pictures in their respective groupings.

I got some of the most oohs and aaahs for this photo -

And these got a lot of attention, too -

Here's my sign - with thanks on the bottom:

The first person to walk through the door!

Here's someone else looking. I didn't want to stalk all the visitors - so I just took these two.

Over the course of the evening there were tons of people there. The shuttle would bring a large group every thirty minutes. Many took my card and I talked with quite a few. However, since I also had a lot of friends there, my attention was pretty compromised, not to mention the red wine...

Here's me with two friends - I was in a state of high energy and excitement as you can see by this not-so-flattering photo, but hey.

I had the best time I've had in a while and there was also a real sense of accomplishment. The feedback I got was so very encouraging and made me proud. I will definitely continue to pursue showing my work, now that I've done it once and know what it entails.

I didn't sell any photos of the 10 I showed, but I got two orders for prints from photos in my portfolio.

 The End! (of this story)
