So what does everyone think about the idea of creating a collage in the end? |

777STAN,
I moved to Georgia in 2002 and lived there for 1 year. I wasn't thinking to come back to NJ honestly, but it happened. I lived in Snellville, eight next to Stone mountain :) great state, no potholes, roads are too good people think landing airplanes instead of driving, that's why too many accidents :P bad ones too.
I like Neal Boortz, listened everyday, he is like Rush in NY/NJ...
Anyway, just had to stick my head here about Georgia :D

Yeah, start whenever you want. I was going to wait until we had atleast half of the states spoken for before opening a posting thread. I'm hoping people will bring their all into this which is why we may keep extending the deadline til people can go out and get the shots they want! The posting thread will be up for a while so that people can post their progress and get opinions and ideas on how to improve! |

Here are the results of a couple of earlier group projects.
Whoever is organizing it needs to set up specifications for the photo size/cropping (if you want this type of regular array) and get photo releases from all the contributors, and redistribute them to everyone once they're all collected. If you can find the old discussion threads, you might see how it was managed. We almost got a "50 State Flags" project done, but eventually gave up when we ended up a couple of states short.

Yeah, I was planning on getting more techinical once we all figured out a definite theme. Since we are all agreed on doing a postcard type scene, then I think our two obvious choices for the compilation are like the examples shown above or like someone previously posted, putting the pictures into the actual states themselves. The latter would obviously be a lot more difficult. I'd be willing to take a stab at it as soon as I get my new copy of Illustrator. I've got a lot of other ideas going through my head, but I think for the sake of simplicity and making sure everyone's work is showcased properly, the examples above would be the best option (You would barely see Rhode Island, Conn., Delaware etc on a map!!!)
SO, I am making the decision for it to be a basic 50 picture layout like shown above, when I get home tonight I'll work out the actual specs, meanwhile if anyone has any other ideas, please let me know either on here or through pm. I am a receptionist at an office where the phone rings about 20 times in 8 hours, I have plenty of free time so I will be on the computer A LOT!
